This property is nestled on the beautiful private Rascarrel Bay and benefits from spectacular sea views. Located on the stunning Solway Firth, with its 200 miles of beautiful rugged coastline and sandy beaches to explore, guests will never be short of something to do. The nearby pretty little coastal village of Auchencairn has a restaurant, cafe and a handy post office shop. Guests are also within easy reach of Dalbeattie and the wonderful market towns of Castle Douglas Scotland’s ‘Food Town’ and Kirkcudbright well known as the ‘artist’s town’. Enjoy a trip to the castles of Caerlaverock, Drumlanrig and Threave or explore the historic Dundrennan and Sweetheart Abbeys. Golfers will be delighted with an impressive 32 courses in the region or you can just relax and enjoy the area's abundant wild life and the immediate magnificent coastal scenery.

Venturing into the fabulous spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with floor to ceiling full length windows, to admire the stunning coastal views. The lounge, with comfortable sofas and French doors leading out to the enclosed decked area, is a great place to perhaps watch a film on the TV/DVD after a day out exploring this stunning area or simply sit back and take in the breathtaking sea views. The wonderful, bespoke and well-equipped kitchen with mood lighting is the perfect place to cook up a storm with electric oven and gas hob in the large central island, as well as a microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler and seating area. The dining area is the ideal place to enjoy a romantic meal, with sea views and French doors leading out to the hot tub. Heading back through the hallway, you are met with the wonderful king-size bedroom, with magnificent sea views, TV and large dressing room. There is also an exceptionally spacious bathroom with a beautiful contemporary free-standing bath, large separate shower with double headed rain shower and WC. Finally completing the spacious accommodation is the handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Stepping outside guests will discover a spacious fully enclosed large patio area providing a safe haven for dogs. Relax and enjoy a dip in the private hot tub and admire the stunning sea views. Enjoy al fresco dining and lazy evening stargazing across the bay. There is also a fully covered decked area,with seating and fantastic multi-coloured, star ceiling mood lighting making this a magical place to be in the evening. There is also a private drive, with ample off-road parking to the side of the lodge.

An absolutely stunning lodge - everything in the lodge was clean and a lovely quality. And what a location - so beautiful and restful. We felt quite spoiled by both what the lodge had to offer and the surrounding area.

Very comfortable lodge, right on the coast so beautiful views of the sea, whether calm or stormy. Well equipped with plenty of space inside. The outside area was well designed and enjoyed by ourselves and our dog. Top marks for cleanliness! Interesting area to visit, with pleasant towns and historic sites as well as lovely walks.

The lodge was extremely clean, well equipped with everything you need and very comfortable. It was in a quiet, peaceful location away from it all, with stunning views of the ocean but not too far to travel in the car to nice restaurants, pubs and cafes. The lodge is beautifully located with a super view across the Solway. If youre looking for a relaxing holiday this lodge is perfect. It also works as a base for touring the area. I would be very happy to return for a second stay. The dog also loved it!

Another wonderful stay at Rascarrel Bay (2nd time of visiting). We stayed in Platinum Lodge 4 which is beautiful and has everything you need for a wonderful stay particularly if you have dogs as the location is absolutely perfect. The only downside is the bed which both my Husband and I found very uncomfortable as the mattress was extremely firm.Read more We both suffer with bad backs and we didn't sleep particularly well. I guess it would suit some, but unfortunately not us. Other than the bed however, a 5 star stay. Hide

2nd stay was previously March 22. Just as magical as first time. My mum has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and hasn't got long ( month's ). We have been many places in U.K since COVID as travelling UK seemed smarter. Rascarell is still the best place we have stayed to unwind. So bringing mum & dad here to relax was perfect. Beautiful property in a stunning location. We never tired of the amazing view. We were welcomed with some lovely treats for us and the lodge was very clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor seating area which is private and sheltered, not to mention a lovely sun trap in the mornings. Everything was amazing and had all the essentials that you needed for your stay. Great for peace and relaxation with a lovely hot tub over looking the Solway Firth. The little hideout seating area was ideal for anyone who wanted to be out of the sun, but still enjoy the tranquility of being outside. Amazing place and well looked after.

Amazing location and property. Everything that we needed was there and spotlessly clean. A remote location without background traffic sound, just the sea and bird calls. The dogs loved it especially as off lead walking was available from the door around the bay. Once on the coastal path a lead is required as cattle and sheep roam freely.
