An idyllic thatched cottage nestled in a peaceful riverside village where you can enjoy the best of both North Devon’s coast and countryside.

This charming holiday cottage enjoys a traditional village location with the local inn; cricket club and children’s play park all just a short walk away. The surrounding area is perfect for those who enjoy walking or cycling, with the Tarka Trail accessible from the village, awash with wildflowers and presenting beautiful views of coastal towns along the way. The sandy beach of Westward Ho! is just six miles away, Bideford with its range of quirky shops and restaurants is four miles and Torrington, which offers an indoor swimming pool, heritage centre and Dartington Crystal is three miles away. Slightly further afield, you’ll find the historic towns of Clovelly and Hartland with breath taking cliff-top walks on either side.

Enter the property into the entrance hallway where you will find a piano and room for coats and shoes. Here there is a large oak table so you can dine comfortably together. The well-equipped kitchen offers fitted units, granite work surfaces, a fridge/freezer, separate integrated fridge ideal for wine/beer, gas oven, hob, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and an oil-fired Rayburn (which can be used at an additional cost). The cosy lounge features exposed beams, a large stone fireplace with woodburner (first basket of logs included, then £5 each thereafter), TV/DVD, Hi-Fi, Bluetooth soundbar. Upstairs, the first bedroom contains a king-size bed with fitted wardrobes, and a twin room also with fitted cupboards. There is also a spacious bathroom with shower over bath and a separate handheld shower attachment on bath and WC on the first floor.

Outside, the delightful fenced garden offers a lawn area, shallow cobbled steps to one side and decked area with BBQ, garden furniture and views over the valley - perfect for evening drinks. There is private parking for two cars.

A really lovely cottage and beautifully clean. Very quiet and peaceful. Nice pub and good food and very friendly people if you want to eat out. We met up with our son and had a very comfortable stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They have thought of everything; the cottage is well-equipped and cosy. This is the most beautiful cottage in a lovely village. The cottage was perfect for our family of 4 (2 teens) and really well equipped. The garden is really secluded and has a lovely decked terrace - perfect for sundowners. Comfy beds and sparklingly clean. Lovely touch of milk for a cuppa when you arrive or there was a chilled bottle of white in tRead morehe fridge. Great cycling nearby and a gorgeous stream perfect for paddling. You wont be disappointed with this lovely cottage. Very cosy and well equipped with a comfortable bed. Devon weather can be unpredictable so it was important to have a nice base to spend some time in.

Valley's End is a perfect cottage. The cottage is old, but in excellent condition and is very well equipped. The accommodation was exactly as described, and the directions to the cottage were straightforward. The garden is an absolute suntrap, and so nice to return to after a day out exploring. We had a wonderful family holiday and loved the cottage. Beds were super comfy, the Rayburn oven warm and inviting and we spent the evenings in front of the log fire. Lovely village and our kids really enjoyed the local playground with sports fields and first walks.

What a wonderful get away after such a challenging year! The cottage is beautiful and cosy and had been decorated for Christmas which was such a thoughtful touch. The kitchen was probably the best stocked of any place I have stayed at and the hosts were so generous providing firewood for the glorious log burner and provided a bottle of wine for wheRead moren we arrived. Wonderful thatched cottage in a quite village location with a lovely local pub within walking distance. Clean and well maintained with real character (did bump my head a lot!). Ideal location to explore N. Devon and its amazing beaches.
