Nestled at the foot of the North York Moors National Park is the market town of Helmsley. With a picturesque square surrounded by independent shops, bakeries, restaurants and cafes, Helmsley also boasts a castle, micro-brewery and Verbena spa. Beyond the town lie miles of heather-clad open moorland just waiting to be explored. Neighbouring Pickering (13 miles) also hosts a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants together with a historical steam train, which winds its way through stunning countryside to the coastal resort of Whitby (30 miles).

Enter the property on the ground floor to discover a stunning lounge, finished with neutral tones and oak flooring and decorated with stylish sofas, cosy rugs, tasteful artwork, a Smart TV/DVD and fantastic wood burner for those quiet nights in. Continue through to the bright and spacious kitchen/diner, which is full of natural light. At one end of this room, a contemporary kitchen area is fitted with striking dark units, sleek granite worktops and an island for entertaining. With everything you should need for preparing delicious meals, this room contains a double oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and much more. At the other end, a dining table sits in sunlight beside the large window. Completing this floor is a convenient WC. On the lower ground floor you will find a second lounge with additional Smart TV/DVD which opens directly onto the garden and offers an alternative space to relax and unwind. There is also a handy utility room complete with washing machine and laundry facilities. Also on the ground floor is a handsome super king-size zip and link bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Had a lovely week over New Year. The cottage is big over 3 floors with lovely decor and comfortable sofas and beds. Ensuites for each bedroom plus a small toilet near kitchen. The location is brilliant within 2 minutes walk of town. Parking was fine with a space to rear and on street. Kitchen had everything we needed we cooked quite a few meals. We had a fabulous family holiday at Rose Cottage. The chocolate cake and red wine left by the lovely owner went down a treat! Lovely cottage in a really good location a two minute walk from Helmsley. The little micro brewery in the village does some very lovely beers at a very affordable price. Bakers, deli shop and butchers all did lovely food.

A lovely cottage in a great location, the market town of Helmsley was a real positive surprise for the atmosphere, shops and restaurants. All utilities perfect. Also great hike around impressive abbey Rievaulx. Great starting point for hikes in North York Moors park.

A nice house in a good location with good facilities. The lower floor rooms do not get much natural light, the sheltered garden is below ground level.

We simply had the best holiday at Rose cottage. The cottage is perfectly located, lovely and quiet and only a 3 minute walk from the market square which has so many lovely places to eat. The cottage is fully equipped, very clean and really comfortable; all the beds were comfortable too. It was a well planned home, beautifully furnished with very comfortable beds. It was a bit noisy early in the morning with parking for the hotel staff and other workers in the town. Great location for the town which is lovely.

Great location just off the high street in Helmsley. We had two cars and we had no bother parking the second car right outside the cottage everyday. Rose Cottage is a beautiful place to stay with high quality fittings and furnishings, nicely decorated, comfy beds and hot showers and great to have the outdoor space at the back of the property. A beautiful cottage in a lovely town. Cleanliness of property excellent and we loved the snug. The main suggestion for improvement would be to supply a summer weight duvet. We struggled with 13.5 tog in summertime!
