This beautifully converted Cornish escape nestles on the outskirts of Bodmin Moor, a mere 1.5 miles from the charming village of St Breward, where a welcoming pub and a well-stocked village shop await at your leisure. The cottage provides direct access to an abundance of walking trails on your doorstep, allowing you to enjoy the sound of cracking twigs underfoot, in addition to the highest peaks in Cornwall, Rough Tor and Brown Willy, with breath-taking panoramic views of both the south and north Cornish coasts on clear days. Alternatively, you can embark on an 18-mile adventure along the picturesque Camel Trail, starting at Wenford Bridge and following a disused railway line through scenic countryside. Within a 10-mile drive lies the charming market town of Wadebridge, while a 15-mile journey takes you to Rock, where you can catch a ferry to the bustling fishing haven of Padstow, renowned for its active fishing harbour and exceptional seafood restaurants.

Stepping into this incredibly welcoming cottage, you will soon feel at home with the combination of original and contemporary style throughout. The home features a unique semi upside down design with a lounge space on the upper floor, and kitchen/diner and bedrooms on the lower floor. A truly wonderful design allowing guests to take in glorious views across the moorland from the comfort of the sofa’s, all whilst enjoying the Smart TV and warming crackle of the log burner on those chillier nights. Enjoy a perfect movie night in this ideal lounge space. The well-appointed kitchen has all appliances needed for a stress-free stay whilst the dining table provides an ideal spot for morning breakfasts to plan the day’s adventures ahead, or those laid-back evening meals. When the night draws in retreat to your choice of two homely bedrooms, one providing a king-size bed, the other a super king-size room that can be made up as a twin room on request. Both bedrooms also provide the added luxury of en-suite shower rooms to soak, refresh and renew after your adventures.

Heading outside, guests are treated to a shared courtyard style garden. Relax and enjoy some alfresco dining on the outdoor seating or enjoy roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. This escape really does provide something for everyone.

This is the second property in the Irish Farm barn conversions we have stayed in. As with the previous abode, Gwyns, it has been tastefully done, sympathetic to the Bodmin Moors surroundings. Quintessentially Cornish, the property has been decked out with high end appliances that make for a comfortable stay. The Arishes has two bedrooms each with eRead moren suites, offering a comfortable place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring Cornwall. The kitchen is fully equipped and the property has everything you could possibly need. There is ample parking for the three properties and any additional guests. Irish Farm is set in the Internationally recognised Dark Skies Landscape area, providing for phenomenal star gazing opportunities whilst also situated close to lots of small villages like St Breward for local pubs and shops. The moors themselves are great for dog walking, allowing adventures to get close to wild horse, cows and sheep. Its also close to family orientated activities like the Eden project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. For those of a more discerning predisposition, its also close to places like Padstow and Rock for more exclusive eating opportunities. And for the best fish and chips in Cornwall, award winning Peckish is just a few miles away in Camelford. The hosts, Gerry and Dawn, are close by should any you require any assistance, as they operate a working small holding. Always up for a friendly chat or offer some advice on local amenities. They even offer a homemade cream tea, which goes down an absolute treat! Its so good here we are already booked in for a third stay, this time Little Irish, need we say more? A lovely and very well equipped accommodation. The accommodation is beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, with everything you could possibly need in a peaceful location and also great for exploring Cornwall. The owner (Gerry) was very friendly and also gave us a cream tea which was very nice. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

Great little place to unwind in a peaceful location. Good facilities and property very clean and well presented. Easy walks straight onto Bodmin moor and short distance to other coastal walks. Highly recommended.

Another cottage to add to our list of favourite places to stay. The cottage is so warm and comfortable and very well equipped. Although you are on the moor there are plenty of places to visit nearby if you can tear yourselves away from the warmth of the woodburner while watching the ever changing views thanks to moorland weather. Excellent facilities at Arishes. Everything top of the range. Superb mattresses and bedding. The scones were so light, much appreciated. Well located for visiting either coast. Despite a week of rain we had a wonderful time. It was nice knowing that we would be returning each day to a warm and cosy property.

A lovely, remote location on the edge of Bodmin Moor but a short drive from the main tourist towns such as Padstow, Tintagel and Port Issac. Arishes was very well appointed with modern appliances and equipment. The property had a courtyard which was great for enjoying a drink or a bite to eat in some of our downtime; it was a sun trap and wind brRead moreeak all in one. The owners were very friendly and had produced a helpful guide to local walks, places to visit and restaurants. We found the Old Inn in St Breward an excellent choice for dinner, just 5 minutes drive, generous portions and reasonably priced. This is a great location for getting away from it all. Hide

This is our second visit to Arishes and we enjoyed our week. The specification and level of detail is really high for the property and there wasnt anything we felt was missing. As a base for exploring Bodmin Moor and the surrounding area, this property is excellent and very good value for money.

This is one of the best holidays we have ever had, and it was almost exclusively due to the location and accommodation. Lovely converted barn, beautifully appointed with contemporary furniture and tasteful decor. Every appliance and utensil you could ever need, and great heating and log burner. Location is very rural and nice and quiet. Lots of farRead morem animals and wild ponies on the moors every day, and it was a toss up which one greeted you at the gate every morning. Very central location which means there is a large variety of places you can visit. The hosts Gerry and Dawn are excellent and on hand if needed. In summary this place is perfect. Hide

Arishes is a picture perfect barn conversion, set among the picture perfect surrounding of Bodmin Moor. A thoughtfully converted old barn, great finish and beautifully equipped. Gerry and Dawn were lovely hosts and made us fell very welcome. Thanks for the tractor ride, it made the top 5 highlights of the week!

We stayed in Arishes Cottage, in winter. The property is warm, cosy and very well equipped and cared for. The log burner added the final touch, making the evenings snug! The location, if you enjoy being away from the crowds but near enough if you wish to visit places such as Padstow, Rock or other tourist spots is just right. The village of St BrewRead moreard is 30 minutes walk or 5 minutes in the car. Fabulous views from the cottage. We will definitely book again. Hide

A fantastic property, great location and extremely well equipped. Probably the best self catering we've stayed in over the last 40 years, couldn't ask for more and will definitely return.
