Plenty of space, peaceful, and you can start walks right out the door. Our group of 7 from 11-75 really enjoyed our week. Clean, well-equiped kitchen, comfortable beds. Bathrooms are as follows: upstairs 2 toilets, a shower, and a shower/tub. Downstairs 1 toilet. Plenty to go around. All bedrooms are upstairs.

Perfect location for hiking w many trails nearby and spectacular scenery. Great cottage for cooking together and spending time in front of the fire. Covered outdoor area by door makes it easy to deal with muddy boots, wet gear and dog. It was disappointing however to find there aren't even basic kitchen provisions like salt and pepper, or any wood Read moreeven for first night. Also, 2 of the pubs mentioned on the website are closed Nov to Feb and the 3rd is not open to non-residents. Hide

A great property with superb views from every room! Also useful for the bus stop to be right by the cottage, which gave us an easy option for a non circular walk.

Rose cottage was ideal for our family wedding in the village, providing good space for 8 of us. The king size mattress is very uncomfortable and the provision of toiletries, toilet paper and mirrors in the bedrooms very poor. But well equipped with fridges, freezer and washing machine plus plenty of seating, crockery, etc. It is well located for LaRead morekeland walks and wild swimming. We had some lovely meals at Yew Tree pub and The Royal Oak. Hide

Positives: It is a lovely house with spacious rooms Perfect location for Sca Fell / Seathwaite Nice master bedroom Convenient parking for 2 cars A few negatives: Surface level clean but not deep cleaned, lots of dust under the bed which set off hay fever/allergies Lack of kitchen add-ons- could have had more tea, coffee, washing up liquid, seasoninRead moreg etc. Would say it is fine for 7 adults but 8 would be a squeeze as one of the doubles is a small double Heating in the rooms was too hot! It was a lovely property to stay in. We all thoroughly enjoyed our holiday. The accommodation was great, although it was a little bit inconvenient having the dishwasher away from the kitchen. We would be more than happy to stay here again.

The location of this property is fantastic. Ideal for a family. The master bedroom is a good size and comfortable. The other double bedrooms are very small. Great outlook from cottage and plenty of places to walk straight out your door. Lovely location but not somewhere if you want privacy as four other cottages attached to this one share the garden space. There is your own patio area which was welcomed in this weeks heat as shaded a lot of the day. But again not really private as only a small field seRead moreparates you from a popular walking route down lane. Overall a very nice place in a great area of the lakes. Hide

Nice property, lovely location, However, major problems with parking, nothing to stop others using the parking spaces, no where else in the village to park, except paying at the hotel, if they have spaces. Car blocked in twice.
