This property provides a perfect romantic getaway for couples and as well as a being great base for families. The village of Polruan is ideally located to explore all Cornwall has to offer. Take a short drive to Bodinnick where you will find Ferryside, Daphne du Mauriers’ home where she wrote her first book, the car ferry leaves from here giving you easier access to the west of Cornwall. Don’t miss out on the local beaches and South West Coast Path. Visit local attractions like Catherine’s Castle in Fowey, Ferryside in Bodinnick or consider travelling further afield to The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, or Bodmin Jail.

Enter the cottage through a large entrance hall, the ideal place to leave outdoor gear and walking boots. Move on into the lounge/kitchen/diner which is the spacious hub of the house with amazing river views from all areas. At one end you will find the well-equipped kitchen with electric double oven/ grill, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, separate wine fridge and dishwasher from the kitchen you move into the dining area with an extendable dining table where you can dine and take in the wonderful views. Then move on through to the lounge area where there are two comfy sofas and arm chair, and wood burner to sit and watch the ever changing view. If you fancy an watching you family film why not pop in a DVD and make the most of the TV.  On the ground floor you will falso find the first double bedroom and a bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Take the stairs to the first floor where you will find a further two bedrooms a spacious king-size room with views along the river and a twin room. There is a further bathroom with bath and separate shower and WC. In the basement you will find a utility area with the washer/dryer,  pool table and  lots of storage space for bikes and beach good.

Stepping outside via the large patio door  from the lounge you will find a wonderful glass fronted balcony with views of the river and out to sea, there is also a small grassed area to the front of the property. There is private parking available for 2 cars outside the cottage. Please note this is accessed via a very narrow unmade road, unsuitable for larger vehicles.

  • There are many small winding in and around the village, some of which are not suitable for cars.

Lovely house and furnishings felt at home straight away. Shame about building noise and dust opposite, no lazy lie ins or sitting on patio until evening. Once this is finished will be perfect, such a fantastic spot.

Absolutely delightful cottage and place to stay, gorgeous, friendly village and surrounds. After the challenge of the drive In to Polruan and Trebarfoote it really made you feel that you had found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

We were not told of the construction work in progress on the adjacent property.We were awakened every weekday morning at 8am by heavy machinery, drilling,excavations and reversing sirens. We had to vacate the property for 8 hours a day to get peace and quiet. We were looking forward to taking breakfast and lunch on the lovely terrace.
