An idyllic retreat for couples within this charming stone-built detached cottage located within the Yorkshire Dales in the village of Buckden.

Located at the foot of Buckden Pike, and close to the head of Upper Wharfedale, the idyllic village of Buckden is the perfect place to start exploring the scenery and pretty towns of this magnificent Dale. Renowned for its walking routes, this region is home to the famous Dales Way, which passes close to Buckden Pike. Undoubtedly, this is one of the best walking areas in the Dales with Lady Anne Clifford way passing through the village plus the well known triangle walk, taking in the villages Cray and Hubberholme; The Millennium Trail to Starbotton, meandering back along the the banks of the river Wharfe. The village itself offers a variety of pubs within walking distance and a village store but there is plenty of scope to explore the local area. Grassington is a short drive away, famed for its Dickensian Christmas celebrations and the summer festival, or Hawes, the home of Wensleydale cheese. A stylish retreat adjoined to the owner's home, ideal for a romantic getaway.

Designed with couples in mind, this is a two storey retreat, featuring a charm-filled open-plan living area. Whether you are settling down in the wingback arm chairs, or enjoying a warm cup of tea at the bistro style table, this layout comprises everything you need to feel right at home. Morning through to night time you will feel truly relaxed in this desirable location. To the left of the entrance, a contemporary shower room introduces a unique feel to the interior, with a pebbled wall bordering the layout, and a rainfall shower situated above. The next floor is equally as wonderful, housing a double bed, bedside tables, and a wardrobe, with a few exposed beams on the ceiling, a peaceful environment to wake up to, guided by oak flooring. A lovely view looks out towards the village pub.

Spend some time in the pretty garden when you find the time, a delightful place to unwind, with a  patio area for enjoying sitting looking across the valley  taking in the wonderful views. Private off street parking next to the cottage.

Lovely little cottage - small but comfortable, clean and well equipped. The information provided, from things to do and see to how to operate the TV, cooker, microwave etc was excellent. The cottage is situated in the most peaceful village, surrounded by beautiful countryside, a walkers paradise. The cottage is small but extremely cosy, bed very comfy with beautiful linen. Should you decide to eat in one evening the kitchen has all the essentials you need to create a meal, but the Buck Inn across the road is very good but busy. Excellent spot for one, or a couple, especially if you want to walk nearby without having to drive. A cosy little spot with a comfortable bed and all the necessary stuff if your looking to cook for yourself. Very detailed information about the area in the cottage itself. Everything had been thought of. Peaceful and quiet. No faults.

Second time of stopping here. The location is brilliant for walking and cycling, energetic or gentle. The cottage is small but so comfy with everything you need for your stay. The Little House is such a wonderful setting in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales . Thoroughly enjoyed several walks from Buckden , weather was a real blessing , sun shining all week . Hosts Kevin & Debbie are very welcoming and supportive . Certainly on our list of places to go back to.

We enjoyed our stay in this compact and comfortable house which is in a very good walking area. There were paths we could follow immediately from the door, which was one reason for our choice. We also liked being near enough to Skipton where we visited the castle - very interesting indeed. My partner very much liked being able to sample the real alRead morel in the pub next door to the house and we both liked the pizzas from Cecilia in the next door village. Hide

Wonderful location if you enjoy peace and quiet and walking. The owner kept us informed about the area and some road closures.Pub just across the road does good food and a welcoming atmosphere. As for the cottage it is compact but has everything we needed. Spotlessly clean with a comfy bed and good quality bed linen. We did need some heating on as Read moreit was October but the central heating was more than adequate. Love it so much we are booking next year. Hide

The Little House was perfect for our annual late week break. The owners, Debbie & Kevin are lovely people and cannot do enough to make your stay, relaxed and care free as possible, to which we commend them. The surrounding valley area of Upper Wharfdale was beautiful and the walks available right on the door step, make it easy to lock up the car anRead mored take the opportunity to take in this wonderful place on foot. Absolutely Fabulous! There is everything you need in the cottage. A beautiful retreat in a beautiful place! Good location in the middle of the dales to go north or south. Great vacation from start to finish for us- sad to leave on the Friday!

Fabulous cozy cottage in a peaceful setting. Wonderful walks from your front door and a great pub next door (no noise). Close to other villages, Kettlewell, Starbottom and Grassington all with a great choice of eating places. This is beautiful little house in an idyllic spot. Plenty of walks right from the door and a pub just opposite. The only thing missing is a washing machine but with the limited space there is nowhere to put it. The bed is very comfy and there is a great shower. There is also a lovely patio space in the owners garden.

Enjoyed our 3 nights at Fairlawn cottage, comfortable clean,nice seating area overlooking fabulous views, the pub Buck inn across the road very welcoming great food, lovely walks on the doorstep, definitely would revisit.
