A single storey wooden lodge within exclusive complex of just four lodges, set within six acres of mature woodland and landscaped grounds where you are free to roam and wild swim within the outdoor pool.

You will be well served within this peaceful oasis where you can relax by the natural swimming pool or stroll through the acres of mature woodland. You are just a short drive from the vibrant market town of Ledbury, where you will find an excellent choice of amenities offering good local food and crafts. Known for its unique black and white timber frame cottages, lying on the border of Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, this ideal location showcases the region's finest country, and wealth of historic towns and villages, including the Malvern Hills, or the cathedral cities of Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester. For the best of both worlds, there is a train station just a short distance away to take a stress-free train ride on the direct Worcester and Hereford line to London.

Drive through the electric gates and into the woodland and as daylight appears again you will gain your first glimpse of the cluster of traditional lodges. The wooden steps will lead you to the terrace where you can step inside to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area is spacious with comfortable sofas ready for you to sink into and relax after a day exploring, there is also a TV/DVD where you can enjoy a movie when the nights draw in. The kitchen/diner is set to the rear, the kitchen is well-equipped with gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer dishwasher and washing machine. The dining area offers seating for everyone to enjoy a meal together. When the day is done you can find two bedrooms just off the small hallway, a comfortable king-size and a twin. Completing the accommodation is the shower room with shower and WC.

Step outside onto the terrace at the rear of the property where there is seating for everyone to enjoy al fresco dining, a great BBQ, outdoor shower and private hot tub. You also have access to the natural outdoor swimming pool, and a shared sauna and gym. There is allocated off-road parking for two cars.

Darter Retreat is an absolute gem. Views from the veranda were perfect; our dog sat watching the birds while we relaxed, enjoying cups of tea. The location is fantastic for walks. Herefordshire Way is virtually on the doorstep, The Malverns are close by and there is an arboretum which was recommend by the owner. We had a lovely break here. The accomodation was perfect, super clean and had everything you need. The gym was amazing, so well equipped. Our hot tub started leaking a bit half way through, but the owners were fantastic, right onto trying to sort it letting us use a different tub, so no complaints there. The swimming pond was lovely (not the faint Read morehearted in March of course). All in all we were very happy and would defintely recommend. Hide

The cottage is really nice, especially the peaceful setting and the hot tub at the back. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen is quite spacious. The twin bedroom was fine for our kids (4 and 6) but might be a bit small for 2 adults. We had an amazing week at the Oasis Lodges and did not want to come home! Set in a lovely peaceful location central to the Forest of Dean and the Cotswolds it makes for a great base to go out and explore. A spacious comfortable lodge in a splendid setting, the beds and sofa are very comfy. The attraction for us was the amazing outdoor pool and we loved this, especially as the weather was so hot. It was very quiet when we stayed which added to our enjoyment. The outdoor decking at the front and the back is lovely, with the lodges being well spaced anRead mored quite private. Lovely relaxing weekend where we could just chill. Lodge had everything we needed. I would advise that there is nothing in walking distance from the lodge.

This is our second visit to Darter Retreat and we will be back . Beautiful location and very well presented and well equipped lodge. The hot tub at the rear is very private and we loved every minute of spending time in there and then returning to the cosy lodge. The natural pool area at the front of the lodge is beautiful. Our kids described it as the best holiday ever, and it really was. The lodge was spotless and well decorated. The hot tub was amazing and easy to use. We loved sitting in it after the kids had gone to bed to gaze at the stars. The natural pool was of course freezing but clean and lovely and refreshing.
