Escape to the Peak District in this beautiful apartment the heart of the national park where you are spoilt for choice from shops and eateries to miles of beautiful public footpaths and cycle routes.

Matlock bath is nestled within a beautiful wooded gorge by the River Derwent. The village boasts a plethora of attractions such as Gulliver's Kingdom and the Peak District Mining Museum or, if you are feeling more adventurous, you can ride the cable cars to the stunning Heights of Abraham where you can experience cavern tours, walking trails and a children’s playground. There are a huge array of eateries, ice cream parlours, pubs, cafes and more to explore within easy walking distance of your accommodation. The splendid Chatsworth House (8.5 miles), Haddon Hall (7.5 miles) and Crich Tramway Village (5.5 miles) are close by, or why not take advantage of good walking routes around the Derwent Valley and White Peak.

The ground-floor apartment is accessed via a flight of external steps. Stepping into the spacious hallway provides space to take off your coat and boots and wander through to the open-plan lounge/diner which is sure to give an impressive first impression with spacious open-plan living. Perfect location opposite the Heights of Abraham and a very short walk to Matlock Bath. We had no issues with parking on the public carpark which is not far from the property at all. The property itself was extremely clean and spacious and decorated to a very high standard. We had a lovely stay right in Matlock Bath a few minutes walk. It's a cute little town with loads of fish and chips takeaways (at least 6!) and a few amusement arcades (at least 3). We went on new years day for 3 nights so quite a few other shops we closed and the cable cars. There was an interesting aquarium too. All dog friendly. You will need toRead more go to Matlock for groceries but that's a few minutes drive away so no probs. A day trip to Bakewell is worth a visit and very dog friendly too. Hide

Fabulous property and location. Bright, airy, modern, well equipped apartment and we would not hesitate to return. Just round the corner from the main parade and practically opposite the entrance to the cable car! Note no grocery store nearby (although lots of eateries) and arrive early to snag the free parking. What a lovely place the location was brilliant, everything was easily accessible. The house was amazing with the owner also being very helpful with any inconveniences we had. The only con to this property is that the free parking is a curbed bit of gravel, but there is locations you can pay to park close to the house. Beautiful spacious apartment with all the home comforts you need. Beautifully decorated. The property is located on the main road with very little outside space at the front of the property. Be warned the weekends are very busy with motorcycles so expect a lot of noise. This does improve from Sunday evening. The only free parking is across the busyRead more road and limited spaces. The cottage has a greate location and is incredibly well stocked. Tim who manages the property was amazing and gave us lots of detail before our trip as well as some resturant recommendations. We went on a girls trip and we were worried the bunk beds would be too small for adults, but they were very generous. I would highly recommend

This is located in best place to stay in Matlock bath parking over road next to midland pub is best place to leave your car you can walk in to Matlock bath no need to use your car

We had a lovely stay Easter weekend. The cottage is stunning as expected. Location is great with lovely river walks, pubs etc. all close. The only issue is with parking as it was extremely busy and no designated parking. WIFI wasn't the the best especially if you fancied a cosy night in to chill and watch movies. Amazing stay here for 5 days. Lovely and cosy with just a walk away from the centre of the town. Only downside is the WiFi. Even with turning it on and off it wouldnt connect to the tv in both the living area and bedroom. So watching things was very limiting if youre looking to stay in for the evening!

We have just returned from a lovely week in Paxton Lodge cottage. The location of the cottage is amazing.. just a couple of minutes walk from lots of shops, arcades and restaurants. There is so much to do in the area, we enjoyed days out at gullivers kingdom, carsington water and Alton towers. Matlock town is also within walking distance and has a Read morelovely picnic area and splash park for the little ones. The cottage itself is very modern and had everything we could wish for. Excellent location for Matlock Bath and the surrounding areas. The cottage really is a home away from home and has a light, spacious feel. Reasonably priced parking available close by if the free parking is not available.

Although situated on a main road the property is calm and quiet... there is no area to sit outside anyway, but who needs it as locally there's a lovely river walk and the Heights estate, arrived at by cable car. The Peak District is also close by. Nothing is too much trouble for the owner and because we were staying on business he did all he could Read moreto help. The only downside was the lack of dishwasher which today is very unusual, but this may change:-) Otherwise, the property is very comfortable. Hide
