Situated within private grounds, this open-plan, one level accommodation commands a wonderful hillside position overlooking the Derwent Valley and Chatsworth in the distance.

Situated high up on a hill reached via a winding country lane this is the perfect location to get away from it all, yet being close to the various amenities of Matlock which is less than a mile away. Matlock has a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, a weekly market, river walks, and parks. In Autumn the Matlock Bath illuminations and firework display are a spectacular event. The property is 9 miles away from the home of the Bakewell pudding in the pretty riverside town of Bakewell. Chatsworth House and Gardens are also 8 miles away and provide a fabulous day out.  During November Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall have fabulous Christmas markets and other events through the year.

Step into the open-plan accommodation which offers an impressive, vaulted ceiling with exposed wooden beams. Relax on the comfy sofas around the wall-mounted Smart TV or come together and play a board game on the dining table which is a beautiful feature within the accommodation, offering bench seating and a farmhouse table. Light the wood-burner in the chillier months which makes the open-plan space toasty and warm and relax with a good book or maybe a movie. The kitchen area offers everything you need to rustle up a memorable meal, including an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and microwave. The king-size bed is situated under a picture window offering beautiful views across the valley. There is a shower room with a wet room-style shower, and WC.

There is a pretty stone-flagged terrace directly outside the barn with BBQ, seating, and parasol, providing a delightful spot to sit and enjoy the summer sun. There is a lawned area with further seating to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity that surround you. Off-road parking for 2 cars.

A lovely original cottage which is very cosy with a comfortable bed and efficient bathroom. Although the property is reached via a long track, we did not find this a problem. The cottage is in a fabulous area for walks and many excellent restaurants within easy reach. There is also a Sainsbury's close at hand to stock up on provisions. Excellent studio, great comfort and facilities. I would recommend if it is your first time driving there to do so in daylight as pitch black and difficult to navigate to the right destination. But other than the initial confusion a great destination.
