Once you have finished exploring Pevensey’s castle, hop in the car to Battle to soak up more local culture and visit the many independent shops, cafes and restaurants.

The property is reached via 2 flights of steps (16 steps in all) from the parking area up to the front door (the property is then all on one level). The entrance hall, with storage space for coats and beach equipment, leads to the vintage style kitchen, which features wooden cabinets, a kitchen table for four and plenty of light on two sides, and a door to the front terrace. Here you will find an double electric oven and gas hob, fridge. microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, along with a coffee maker. The spacious sitting and dining room is located to the rear of the house, benefiting from spectacular views onto the beach. Furnished with an eclectic mix of 1960s pieces, this is an interesting and welcoming room with vintage seaside appeal. Here guests can relax on the comfortable sofa and enjoy a film after eating at the dining table that sits next to the sliding glass window. The first bedroom, with a double bed, overlooks the beach, while the second room has twin beds with full-width French windows opening out onto the front terrace. There are two recently modernised bathrooms, one with a bath, the other with a shower, both with a WC.

Guests can enjoy meals outside on the decked area, which overlooks the pebbled garden and beach beyond. There are six sun loungers for making the most of the summer sun, and a BBQ for the evenings.

This cottage is pleasantly situated with sea views but visitors should be made aware there are stools in the kitchen, definitely not the best choice for a high percentage of people over 50. A tight balancing act for 4.

Another wonderful holiday at the very comfortable and well equipped Beach Bung. The view is superb so much so that you can spend all your time sitting relaxing and watching the sea and the sky and then walk along the shingle beach and be quite content. Unmatched in my opinion ... we shall be back.

Our holiday location was perfect. Right on the shingle beach. Just right for fishing. Pevensey Bay centre has all you want. The Bakers/Cafe is superb. The convenience store is fine and the Anglers Shop is great. We visited Michelham Priory and Batemans for days out. Blessed with good weather. This is a good base for the area.

Beach bung is perfectly positioned for lazy beach holiday. It has everything you could need. Our granddaughter loved searching the beach for that special shell and there was plenty of room for her to play indoors or on the deck. Places to visit in easy reach. We loved it
