The ancient market town of Sedbergh is situated just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is only 12 miles from the Lake District National Park. The town, with its narrow streets, little shops, traditional pubs and famous school has a traditional Cumbrian atmosphere. The picture-postcard village of Dent is located 5 miles away, home of the highest railway station in mainland England on the scenic Settle-Carlisle railway line. There are three golf courses nearby and opportunities for fishing and walking through fantastic scenery. This, together with the tranquillity of the surrounding valleys, the two National Parks and it being England's book town, makes Sedburgh an ideal year-round holiday destination.
