Enjoying an enviable location on the cusp of the North York Moors, this lovely property is perfect for exploring the North Riding Forest Park (16.5 miles) and the glorious Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (9 miles). This is a fantastic base for enjoying long rural walks with pretty villages along the way including Hutton-le-Hole (4 miles) and the charming town of Kirkbymoorside (1.5 miles) where you will find a choice of great shops, restaurants and pubs. You could also visit popular market towns like Pickering (9 miles) and Helmsley (7.5 miles). The beautiful Castle Howard (13.5 miles) is also well worth a visit or you can even enjoy a day by the sea at Scarborough (26.5 miles).

On entering this beautiful property which is set over one level, you will find yourself in the light and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With high ceilings and bi-folding doors offering glorious rural views, this lovely space makes an ideal base for your holiday. The bright and comfortable lounge is ideal for relaxing in, with comfortable seating, a warming wood burner and TV. At the other end of the room, there's a sizeable dining area, and the stylish kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, coffee maker and washing machine/tumble dryer. Exploring this single-level property further, there's a sumptuous bedroom with a 7' super king-size bed. This can be made up as a twin room by prior arrangement. You will also find an elegant bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Heading through the bi-folding doors, you will find a private terrace which looks out over the North York Moors. Here you can sit back and relax with a drink or a BBQ. You will also have access to a shared hard court for tennis and a shared games room with a billiards table and dart board. A summer house is shared with the neighbouring cottage and can be booked for an evening with advance notice. A hot tub can also be arranged for guests wishing to hire, at an additional cost starting from £175.00.

Jane and Phil are wonderfully accommodating hosts and the communication was excellent. The location is just perfect, in a scenic setting but close to local amenities. We had a wonderful holiday, from arriving to lots of delicious goodies. So many walks available from the door and such a huge comfortable bed to fall into every night afterwards. Everything was of a high standard and we are hoping to return soon.

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage had everything you would need, was very comfortable and in a perfect location for walks with the dogs. Jane and Philip were lovely and we would definitely recommend booking a breakfast with Jane it was delicious, will definitely book to stay again in the future.

The property was immaculate, the equipment was of a very high standard and the view was to die for. Jane, our host was friendly and informative and her chocolate cake was gorgeous. Please if you stay here have a meal, the menu was superb, the food delicious and the service..what can I say.

We had a superb holiday in excellent surroundings. There was a terrific view from The Escape, and plenty of great walks from it. Nothing was too much trouble for Jane. As we were there for a fortnight she changed the laundry after our first week, giving us further supplies of Cava, brownies and flowers. Beautiful cottage in a peaceful location,yet ideal for visits to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay ,Staithes and York. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. The owner ,Jane, provided us with essentials and extra goodies on arrival which was much appreciated. Definitely recommend.

This cottage is in the most beautiful location, perfect for walkers. Approx 1.5 mile to walk to nearest village, beautiful scenary, so cosy and quiet. If you are wanting to get away from it all this place ticks all the boxes, the bed is very comfortable and the oven and grill works great for cosy nights in cooking. Loved our time at the Escape. The cottage was really well equipped, warm and very clean. The Welcome Pack was an added bonus. The owner Jane was so accommodating when we had to switch dates at the last minute due to snow. Would love to return in the Spring/Summer.

Lovely barn in a good location. Very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Was great to find vases of fresh flowers and food and drink there to greet us. A highlight was seeing hares close to the property.

Lovely remote location, close enough to the village. Very clean and would recommend this cottage for a short break. We were made welcome by the owners and would stay again, but we like moving from location to location.

And in a perfect location for walking and visiting the dales & moors, close to nearby Kirkbymoorside where our host Jane told us about the local independant shops/pubs etc. You have use of their tennis court, billiards room and table tennis also. This is a beautiful spot with views of the countryside for miles. There is a big bed and its comfortable. We tried five different pubs and were pleased with the food. We covered about twenty miles a day on the electric bikes through glorious countrysidethe good weather was very welcome.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We were kept well informed by the owner Jane and her team before our departure for our holiday and given detailed directions on how to find this beautiful retreat. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable.
