Located in the small seaside town of Saltdean, on the edge of the South Downs National Park, this cottage is within easy reach of the famous Saltdean Lido, nearby beach, shops, pubs and restaurants. Keen walkers and cyclists can explore the many trails that the South Downs has to offer. Brighton Marina is a short drive away with its range of restaurants and leisure facilities, whilst the centre of Brighton is a shopper’s paradise offering boutique shopping combined with fantastic places to eat and drink. Children will love exploring the Brighton Sea life Centre, or why not enjoy a walk on the famous pier or a trip up the i360 viewing tower that offers spectacular views along the Sussex coastline.

Enter this stylish and elegant cottage into the hallway, where there is space for dropping off coats and boots. Walk through to the wonderfully light and airy lounge which offers the ideal place to relax after a long walk, on the comfy sofas and armchair. On chilly evenings light the wood burner and curl up with a glass of wine to plan the following days’ adventures or catch up with your favourite TV programmes on the Smart TV. The well-equipped kitchen offers an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, and Nespresso coffee machine. The microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the adjacent utility room. Family meals can be enjoyed in the dining room overlooking the garden around the dining table with six chairs, and for those looking to relax with a good book, enjoy spending time in the snug with patio doors that open out onto the garden. Turned stairs from the hallway lead up to the first floor where there are three bedrooms, a king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request), a king-size and a single with sea views. The bathroom offers a shower over bath and WC, and there is also an additional separate WC off the entrance hall.

A really lovely house, so well equipped for a very comfortable stay. We appreciated all the little touches and hospitality. Great for dogs with a fully secure garden. Would definitely stay there again!

This was a perfect house for a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys and 2 dogs.The space was just right for all of us. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise and really thoughtful.We had atrocious weather including 2 big storms so we took advantage of well equipped kitchen. A lovely home from home, thank you for the welcome basket and treats for the dogs. All the little touches made such a difference; dog blankets (and some for the hoomans too!), toiletries, fluffy towels, guide books etc etc. Great location and so much to do nearby. 5* stay, and Id hope to return someday.

This was our third stay at Starlings, a really comfortable holiday cottage in a great location. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space with a separate dining room and a cosy snug. Great walks along the undercliff, lots of little cafes and pubs in Rottingdean to visit. Plus only a 20 minute bus ride to all the shops, culture and theatreRead mores in Brighton. What a fantastic cottage! Absolutely everything you could wish for had been thought of and provided, including a really generous welcome pack. This is the best property we have ever stayed at. Great quiet location to explore the coast. Easy bus into Brighton and jump in the car to Worthing. Would 100% recommend.

Do not hesitate to book this property. The owners have thought of everything and every need is catered for. The local area is beautiful and you are only a short drive or bus ride from Brighton should you want traditional seaside fun.

My family and I had a very comfortable stay at Starlings. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and very well situated. Avery nice welcome pack awaited us on arrival. Jane (owner) was very friendly and helpful. Location just outside Brighton had good bus links into town and very handy for touring the area. Highly recommended!

An ideal cottage within 10 minutes of the centre of Brighton. Nearby towns and villages well worth a visit. Lovely coastal walks. Good areas for dog walking within 5 minutes. We would thoroughly recommend. Owners friendly and helpful.

This is an excellent holiday property and location. Not an area of the country we have been to much and thoroughly appreciated the 5 min walk one way to the sea, or 5 mins walk the other way to the Downs.
