Nestled at the foot of the Skirrid, on the eastern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park and the Wye Valley. It is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and relax in the great Welsh outdoors. The area is also steeped in history with some of Europe’s finest surviving castles, Abergavenny Castle set against the spectacular hills and Crickhowell Castle, a prominent feature within a small market town, or if you want more of an adventure try canoeing or kayaking on the River Wye. The area is also host to a vibrant events calendar to include Usk show and Abergavenny food festival.

Head inside the shepherds hut and you will find the lounge/diner and sleeping area with an inviting wood burner to snuggle up in front of after a day exploring the area. The lounge area has seating where you can relax and listen to music on the DAB radio. There is handily a kettle and a toaster in the lounge area. The kitchen area, with gas stove, microwave and fridge, is to the side of the shepherds hut. In the evening snuggle up in the comfy double bed and look out at the stars. You will also find a shower room with shower and WC.

After a day exploring why not enjoy a soak in your own private hot tub, there is also an area set with table and chairs for summer dining and a charcoal BBQ; guests will need to provide their own charcoal. There is allocated parking for one car.

Please note there is a refundable £50 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Very friendly owner, super helpful Fantastic location. Very much enjoyed the hot tub. Loved having the kitchen separate from the sleeping hut.

Fantastic short break away, the property is kept in an immaculate condition and the owners couldn't have been more helpful during our time there. Choice of breakfast in the cafe is second to none and really sets you up for the day. I would definitely visit again.

Lovely little huts with incredible views all round! Slightly closer to the road and owners property than we imagined but this wasnt too much of a problem! Definitely take tea bags, salt and pepper! Kitchen facilities are good but we missed our salt! Walk up Skirrid starts from approx 100m from huts which is amazing- would definitely recommend this Read moreplace! Hide

Very cosy & comfortable hut with adjacent kitchen hut & hot tub. Accommodation was exactly what we expected- small but finished to a high standard and immaculately clean. Had the most excellent 3 nights stay. The cafe next door does very good breakfasts & easy to get into nearby Abergavenny by car/taxi.

We had a lovely stay, a really chilled out time. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed for a few days away. A good base to go exploring and great walks from your door step. The welsh breakfast served at the Copper Kettle cafe which is on site was delicious, good value for money and generous enough to set you up for the day.Read more The owners who live on site were hospitable, friendly and helpful. If you want to go out for the evening taxis are easily arranged. Hide

The location is perfect if you want to have some privacy and peace from all the hustles and bustles of the city life. The hut is well-maintained and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. Moreover, the view from the outside is refreshing whatever the season is.

We had a great time at the Cabin. Very clean and well presented on arrival. Hot tub was excellent. Location is as expected, more than a walk to any pub or town. Drive into Abergaveney only takes 4 minutes which is great. Also an excellent walk to the top of the Skirrid on your doorstep! Owners are very kind and a great help.
