Perfectly positioned on the splendid Rascarrel Bay, only two miles from the pretty coastal village of Auchencairn, with restaurant, cafe and post office shop. Within easy reach of Dalbeatie and the bustling market towns of Castle Douglas Scotland’s ‘Food Town’ and Kirkcudbright the ‘artist’s town’. Explore the historic Dundrennan and Sweetheart Abbeys and enjoy a trip to the castles of Caerlaverock, Drumlanrig and Threave. Golfers will be delighted with an impressive 32 courses in the region. Spot the local wildlife including badgers, roe deer, buzzards, red squirrels and otters on site. Porpoises, dolphins and seals can be seen along the coast too.

Entering the stylish luxurious lodge up a small flight of steps, into the spacious hallway which is the ideal place to store all outdoor clothing. Venturing into the fabulous spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with floor to ceiling full length windows, to admire the stunning coastal views. The lounge has comfortable sofas, TV/DVD and French doors leading out to the enclosed decked area and is a great space to perhaps watch a film after a day out exploring or you could simply sit back and take in the breath-taking sea views. The well-equipped kitchen is the perfect place to cook up a storm with electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, wine cooler and large central island with seating area. The dining area is the ideal place to enjoy romantic meals together, enjoying sea and patio views and with French doors leading out to the hot tub. Heading back through the hallway you are met with the wonderful king-size bedroom, with magnificent sea views, TV and large dressing room. Followed by the exceptionally spacious bathroom, with beautiful contemporary free-standing bath, large separate shower with double headed rain shower and WC. Finally completing the spacious accommodation is the handy utility with washing machine and tumble dryer.

Stepping outside onto the spacious fully enclosed large patio area, which provides a safe haven for dogs. Relax and enjoy a dip in the private hot tub and admire the stunning sea views. Enjoy al fresco dining and lazy evening star gazing across the bay. There is also a fully covered deck area, with seating and fantastic multi coloured, twinkling star ceiling mood lighting. Lodge did not disappoint from our expectations. Fantastic views from every window. Such a peaceful setting. Dont think I would ever tire of the view and sounds of the sea and birds. Amazing holiday home at Rascarrel. The property was so well equipped, clean and cosy. We cannot fault anything, and were very sad to leave. The correspondence throughout was excellent. Spacious but not cold, towels and robes, hot tub checked daily and a real treat with a sea view. Thanks for your hard work keeping this home so beautiful.

Our immediate reaction was wow! The lodge was completely equipped with everything we needed for our self catering holiday. Stunning location, lodge was in pristine condition, comfort level fantastic, weather whilst the sun helps make your day in the summer months its not a requirement as the lodge has everything you require to have a restful and comfortable vacation.

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Beautiful spotless accommodation with everything you need. Views are stunning. Definitely 5 star . Just returned home after 2 weeks in Platinum 2. Wow, the lodge and the location are exceptional. It really is home from home. The lodge was really clean and had everything you would need. Several walks from the lodge so no need to use the car every day. Amazing to see all the wildlife everywhere you go. Cannot wait to return next year.

The lodge was excellently placed for on the spot walks and also many walks in the surrounding area. The views were excellent and we were blessed with lovely wall to wall sunshine for our weeks stay. A beautiful, peaceful location - we never tired of watching the light change over the Solway Firth. The cottage is well-equipped, clean and comfortable and was the perfect base for a week exploring an unexpectedly lovely corner of Scotland. Would not hesitate to recommend to others, and would love to return at some point.
