Truly unique eco residence set in a leafy, quiet spot surrounded by trees and fields. With your own indoor pool and garden room, you’ll never want to leave and discover the delights of West Wales

This eco detached residence property has been constructed from reclaimed materials, using organic architecture, sits in a very secluded spot at the end of a quiet lane. Surrounded by mature shrubs, trees, and fields beyond, this is the spot to get away from it all or enjoy a special family gathering. It is on the periphery of the hamlet of Capel Isaac, yet this has excellent access being only three miles from the A40. The delightful market town of Llandeilo is just four miles away, offering a host of independent shops and eateries. Walks galore and the nearby National Botanic Garden of Wales is well worth the visit , if you can tear yourself away from this unique home. (Please check admittance for the various attractions).

This property has its very own Spring water supply and is collected in our reservoirs and has an environmentally friendly green roof as well as our very own wormery sewage system, making this an eco-friendly property. Pistyll Bach has its inimitable features throughout and is constructed by hand with the use of reclaimed and recyclable building resources. Each room has been crafted with materials that have been collected to reduce the need for new building supplies. To reduce the pollution, reuse and extend the life span of our materials.

Enter this Eco property into the hallway and into the open-plan sitting room/kitchen/diner. The galleried sitting room has a warming wood burner, TV, and floor to ceiling windows with mirrored glass shutters to the exterior, that reflect warmth back into the property that can be closed for cosy winter evenings. The kitchen has a working AGA, an electric oven and halogen hob, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and microwave. There is a utility room with a washing machine and facilities to hang dry your clothes. The dining room has ample space for enjoyable formal dining and leads to the large garden room, with comfortable seating and table and chairs where you can plan your day of exploration over a hearty breakfast. Along the hallway to the ground floor double bedroom, which has an adjoining separate WC and a separate shower room – the hallway door can be locked to create a private suite of an evening. This bedroom also benefits from a door to the garden room. Further along the hallway is the indoor heated eco natural swimming pool (30ft in length by 7ft wide with a depth of 4ft), filtered organically (by the plants surrounding the pool) rather than by chemicals and kept at a temperature of 34 degrees. There are two staircases, the first leads to the first -floor master bedroom which has a double bed with occasional seating looking out over the gardens, a balcony to the side and a shower with separate WC. The second staircase, with a narrow winding stair, leads from the dining area to a galleried landing, through to a double bedroom that overlooks the lounge and gardens beyond, a family bathroom with bath and over head shower and WC, and a fourth double bedroom – which leads you through to the master bedroom, making it suitable for families.

Outside to the rear is a spacious enclosed garden, with ample outdoor furniture with a decked area with a pizza oven and a BBQ for some al fresco dining. There is also an ornamental pond with a hand-crafted forged fountain. The surrounding grounds and gardens lead to the river, a source of electricity as well as providing a relaxing soundtrack to your stay. Ample parking for four cars with an electric vehicle charging point.

We loved our stay and a taste of environmentally friendly living. The 40 year old house is sustainable with eco lifestyle, slow WiFi, use of WhatsApp which worked for our multigeneration holiday. A lovely family home, with lots of interesting features. The garden room and garden are beautiful spaces. The pool is a good size and not too deep (1m approx). Really nice stay in beautiful surroundings. An hour to Tenby and similar journey to other places we visited but only really noticed this because we had our 4 grandchildren with us, the drive out was beautiful and roads are very good. Our grandchildren really loved the pool and playing games in what they called the garden room

This is a really special place. We absolutely loved the property: the ethos, the environment, the sense of space. This is a beautiful cottage set in the depths of the Welsh countryside. The property is an evident labour of love, with the owners building it out of reclaimed materials, resulting in tremendous charm (at times sacrificing practically). The pool made the holiday for our kids. Thanks for a lovely holiday.
