Located on the tip of the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Beauty, these wonderful lodges are the ideal holiday home for walkers and lovers of wildlife.

Set in picturesque Constable Country and the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are numerous scenic walks and foodie pubs and restaurants on your doorstep. For days out, there are a host of local attractions within easy reach, including the famous and spectacular Colchester Zoo, RSBP Flatford Wildlife Garden Jimmy’s Farm and Wildlife Park and the Seaquarium located on the pier at Clacton-on-Sea. For those in need of retail therapy, Colchester, Ispwich and beautiful Bury St Edmunds are just half an hour away by car. If you prefer to leave the car behind, Manningtree station servicing Liverpool street is only five minutes away by taxi.

Upon entering this stunning Scandinavian-style lodge, you will be struck by the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner which boasts gorgeous views out to the Dedham Vale through the bi-fold doors which span the front of the property. The social hub of the lodge, it has everything you need to entertain friends and family with comfort and style. The chef amongst you will enjoy preparing hearty meals in the sleek kitchen, which features an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine. Enjoy lazy breakfasts, light snacks and delicious dinners at the dining table which comfortably seats four guests. After enjoyable days out, relax in the comfortable lounge with sofa and chairs that surround a wood burner. The sizeable Smart TV allows you to stream or watch your favourite shows with the sunset providing a perfect backdrop. There are two bedrooms; the master bedroom has a double bed with bedside tables, chest of drawers and a coat rack to hang your more formal garments, and the second bedroom has twin beds (which can be made into a king size on request), again with drawers and a coat rack, making this property ideal for a small family or two couples. The family bathroom has a bath, separate shower and WC, so wake up to an envirgorating soak before heading out to enjoy the beautiful local area.

Set within peaceful countryside, you couldn't find a better spot to enjoy your freshly ground morning coffee and breakfast, either al fresco on the terrace with the table and chairs provided, or in the comfort of the lodge. With the sunset in the background you'll be able to sink into the hot tub (from the 6th August 2021), recuperating after a day of fun and excitement. There is off-road private allocated parking for up to two cars.

We had 7 nights in this lovely location. Right near flat ford mill, wonderful walks with dogs. I am a wheelchair user and found wheelchair access wonderful, level and no steps (there is however a massive lip to boot/laundry room) so I wasn't able to access that. We did however get cold a lot, in the nights and in the mornings when showering due to Read morelocks being on the thermostats and being able to see the arrow up but not being able to turn the heat up past 20.5, even when snowing. It is a modern, well equiped and very clean cottage. The surroundings are wonderfull, we could see so many stars and hear the owls in the night. When we arrived there was a welcoming atmosphere. We hope to come back. Hide

Fantastic retreat for a relaxing break. The accommodation is brand new and everything you need is at hand. The fire was welcome on chilly nights. The surrounding countryside is great for walking with or without a dog. Local food was all delicious. Flatford Mill, two garden centres, Jimmys Farm and the beach are all within walking or driving distancRead moree. Would recommend if you really want to get away from the hustle and bustle of busy life. Thank you Gyrid for a wonderful break. Hide
