This charming former mill with its own private hot tub is the perfect country escape for families or couples, within easy reach of popular North Devon and Cornish coastline and stunning countryside.

Delightful 18th Century former Mill House stands in truly idyllic surroundings within the owner’s grounds on the banks of the River Torridge. Nestled at the end of a tree lined drive the Mill House is the ideal choice for a romantic escape or a family holiday. By arrangement visitors can fly fish for trout and salmon on the 1.5 mile stretch of the river which runs along side the property. The Mill House sits on the edge of the charming village of Black Torrington with its popular local pub, serving local produce. In the next village of Sheepwash is a post office and small convenience store, with another excellent pub with a rod room and fishing records. The Mill House is conveniently located to explore the breathtaking North Devon and North Cornish coastline with its numerous beaches, Bucks Mill and Westward Ho! or across the boarder into Cornwall there is Bude offering surfing and night clubs. Other leisure facilities such as golf, horse riding and attractions including RHS Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal, the Eden project can be easily reached. Alternatively, just relax at the property In heart of the Devon countryside where there is an abundance of birds and kingfishers are often seen and occasionally deer, otters and badgers and owls .

Stepping into the property on the ground floor, here you will find a utility room with a washing machine and a separate WC. Take the staircase up to the first floor to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with views out over the garden and river, this provides a comfortable place to relax after a day exploring with comfy seating, Smart TV and electric wood burner effect fire. The dining area seats four and the kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. The bedrooms both on the first floor, one being a four poster double bed and the other two singles (which can be made into a super-king-size on request) both with TVs . Completing the accommodation is a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Heading outside, there is a decked area where you can enjoy the hot tub; the area around is enclosed for children and dogs to play.  Truly amazing on a clear evening under the stars whilst enjoying a glass of wine. The garden and orchard along the river banks is available for you to wander. There are resident chickens in a large enclosure which often supply fresh organic eggs, two beautiful native Fell ponies - Fern and Venus, part of a breeding programme to restore their numbers and sometimes sheep graze in our fields. Please take care with children and pets due to the river at the bottom of the garden. Double door fridge/freezer available in the garage.  Space available for 2 cars and across the driveway is a traditional Devon longhouse .

We had a lovely time. The kitchen was very well-equipped. The beds were comfy and the shower seemed to have better water pressure than we have at home. Pauline and Michael were perfect hosts and quick to help out when we had a problem. We loved the welcome pack and appreciated the fresh eggs for breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay at Kingsley Mill which is a really lovely and comfortable cottage. We loved sitting next to the river, lazy evenings in the hot tub and exploring the local area. The cottage is equipped with everything you need. Michael and Pauline are so welcoming and we loved the dogs, and spotting some wildlife. The food at the Black RRead moreiver is exceptional. What a fantastic place for a holiday to get away from it all. A truly wholesome place with wonderful owners on hand if you need them but also leave you alone to enjoy your holiday. The mill is wonderfully equipped and a comfortable base and the animals are all so much fun especially Maureen the Turkey! Would 100% recommend.

Fantastic place to unwind and escape from it all. Very well equipped, comfy accommodation with everything you need, and more. Kingsley mill is the most lovely cottage in such a beautiful peaceful location. Pauline and Michael are great host and very helpful, there are more than welcome to give tips on good local food. This is a beautiful property in a gorgeous location. We had a fantastic week here with our little ones and loved every minute. Arrived quite late one the first night to be greeted with some treats (eggs, Prosecco and apple juice, biscuits ) Hot tub was fab and the children enjoyed it too! Great stay, lovely spot. better weather and we would have explored a bit more of the land but mud and dogs makes for a messy holiday home, so we played it safe. Lovely welcome pack including Freshly laid eggs. Pauline was on hand when needed and very friendly as were her dogs, goats and chickens. Super hot tub and good value, really enjoyed a relaxing break and would love to come back in the summer to enjoy netter weather.

What a beautiful cottage. Extremely comfortable and well equipped. The perfect location for some R&R! Pauline was very attentive. The resident farm animals are an absolute delight. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back!

This place ticked all the boxes and more. The owners are so welcoming and friendly, we got fresh eggs delivered to our door on our first morning which was lovely. We spent a relaxing 2 weeks in the beautifully kept Kingsley Mill. Everything was perfect from the appliances that all work to the comfort of the beds and furniture to that Hot Tub, wow that Hot Tub. 3 of us in a tub that can hold 6 to 8 person, luxury especially at night star and satellite watching. Kingsley Mill is an idyllic spot. Lots of animals about which the children loved. Cherry the goat was a favourite. Cottage was well equipped and comfortable with beautiful views and very peaceful. Hot tub and trampoline a bonus. Pauline and Michael were such friendly hosts. We will definitely go back.
