Located on the main road on the outskirts of Hurst Green, this old coaching inn is ideally located to make the most of the local pub, shops and cafe. In the heart of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is an excellent choice for keen walkers with or without dogs as the surrounding countryside boasts fantastic footpaths and plenty of charming villages for a well-earned pub lunch. Hurst Green is centrally located to give easy access to bustling Tunbridge Wells, only half an hour away by car, where you can find a wide selection of restaurants, bars and shops, as well as the historic houses, gardens and vineyards in abundance in this area, and south to the coastal resorts of Hastings, Eastbourne and Rye.

An elegant reception hall welcomes you into this lavish house and guides you through to the bar area. A fun and special area for entertaining, this space boasts an open fireplace, comfortable sofas, bookcases, a portable Bose bluetooth iPod speaker, and behind the bar, a fridge and all the equipment you need to make cocktails. The contemporary kitchen beyond is light and bright with an elegant French-style table and chairs, with seating for ten, and views over the garden. Here you will find a four-door Range oven, additional oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and blender. In a separate hall area you will find a downstairs bathroom with shower and WC, and a separate utility room with a washing machine, dryer and WC. Once you have finished preparing your evening meals, head to the grand dining room, which has original Georgian wall panels, 1950s Murano chandeliers, oil paintings, a fireplace and table to seat ten. After dinner, retreat to the opulent drawing room where ten guests can sit comfortably on the sofas and chairs alongside the roaring woodburner. Adorned with luxurious fabrics and stylish art work, this is an elegant and calming space in which to relax in front of the 55” Smart TV/DVD, with Netflix, amazon and Freeview. Upstairs on the first floor, the five bedrooms have been well furnished with an eclectic mix of antique and contemporary furniture. There is one bedroom at the front of the property, which has a super-king-size bed, and flat screen TV for those lazy mornings. There is a further bedroom with a super-king size bed, and two more bedrooms on this floor featuring king-size beds. The final bedroom has twin beds. All bedrooms share two bathrooms with WC, under floor heating, one of which has a sumptuous separate shower cubicle, and the other with a shower over bath.

Outside, the garden has four different areas to enjoy. There is a patio area outside the kitchen, perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee or an afternoon BBQ, while French windows from the lounge open onto a large area bordered by an olive tree, where you’ll find rattan tables, sofas and chairs, perfect for evening drinks. There is a hot tub to relax and enjoy the views across the lawns and an elevated pergola with wooden garden table and chairs that offer breath taking views across the countryside, while on the opposite side of the garden two lounge chairs are perfect for an afternoon snooze.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £500 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

As a party of 9, with an age range of 3 to 80, we had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful house. The property is very well equipped, spacious and beautifully decorated. The large garden was ideal for the children and there is plenty of space indoors if the weather is wet. The hot tub is a nice touch. Other reviews have mentioned the road noise frRead moreom the A21. Yes, it is loud when you are at the front of the house but we didnt find it too obtrusive once inside or when in the rear garden. Hide
