A traditional cottage with an enclosed rear garden offering a home-from-home feel - family or friends will love this location. With the bulk of Blencathra providing a stunning backdrop, the village lies within the northern edge of the Lake District National Park on the Cumbrian Way – ideal for walkers and cyclists, and perfect for those who like to explore during the day and enjoy a pub meal and a few drinks in the evening within a village. Walk to the summits of High Pike, and Carrock Fell (6 miles) for some magnificent views or you can stroll from the village along the riverbanks to the limestone gorge of Howk, where the waterfalls are a lovely sight. You are also within easy reach of Bassenthwaite Lake (9 miles), Derwentwater (18 miles) and Ullswater (18 miles).

Entering the property, there is a handy porch to dry off damp coats and muddy walking boots. Heading into the bright hallway, you will find a cosy lounge with comfy seating and a Smart TV with a built-in DVD player. After a day out, put a movie on Netflix and relax before your adventures ahead. On a nice evening, there are patio doors which lead from the lounge into the garden. Also off the hallway, you will find the kitchen which is well equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, slimline dishwasher, washing machine and fridge with freezer compartment. There is a handy WC off the kitchen. Head back into the hallway and head up to the first floor. There is a family bathroom which offers a shower over the bath to relax in, and a WC. There are three attractive bedrooms: a super-king, a twin and a single bedroom.

There is a pretty enclosed rear garden which is a real suntrap - perfect to sit out and enjoy an early morning coffee. There is parking for one car and further parking in the village (subject to availability).

A nice cosy cottage in the centre of Caldbeck, great walks straight from the door. Cottage had all we needed to enjoy our stay, it had an small enclosed rear garden which is good if you have a dog, village shop and pub are just across the road in front of the cottage. We would return as we liked the cottage and the location, still in the Lake DistrRead moreict but much quieter than the big towns like Keswick and Bowness, Hide

This was a smashing quaint little cottage, fully equipped with everything required, all in good working order and very clean. Lisa, our contact, was very helpfull and flexible, making our checking in and out transitions very easy. Unfriendly Neighbours spoiled our stay a little, very quick to get irrate about very little things
