The property, in Northam, is in a great location to explore North Devon. With just one bedroom, it is an ideal place for couples or a new family with a small baby. Guests will be able to make easy use of Northam Burrows Country Park which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and also incorporates the historical Royal North Devon Golf Course. It is a wonderful spot to visit at any time of year, but summer visitors should be sure to visit the Northam Burrows Centre (located towards the north of the beach) to learn about the local wildlife and stop off in the café whilst there. Further afield, there is much to see and do in the area with attractions to suit most tastes including Dartington Crystal, 9 miles away, and RHS Garden Rosemoor, 10 miles away.

The property itself is a delightful one-bedroomed annexe, all on one level and providing high-quality holiday accommodation with a modern kitchen, spacious lounge and a bright sun lounge diner. The lounge has two sofas and TV – perfect for relaxing evenings in. The room leads into the large lounge and dining room which also has comfortable chairs to relax in after an energetic day out exploring North Devon. Completing the living space, the kitchen benefits from a breakfast bar and high stools for less formal dining. The large bedroom has enough space for a cot and has its own TV to enjoy while lying on the king-size bed. The wet room is next door which has a power shower as well as separate hand-held shower.

Outside, the property benefits from a private patio and level lawn garden which overlooks the surrounding countryside and benefits from a BBQ.

We found this annex/apartment perfect as a base. It was wet weather so we were inside a fair bit. We were warm and comfortable with lots of living space. The sofas and bed were comfortable and the dogs enjoyed looking out of the sunroom into the garden. The small fenced garden and parking next to the house suited our needs. Situated on the outskirtRead mores of town meant we could walk our dogs up the quiet lanes in the evening but we were only 10 mins drive from the beach and near main routes to explore the area. We would look to return. Hide

The bungalow was lovely, we had everything we needed in the kitchen and the bathroom was great too. There was plenty of room for wheelchair or walker use to. My only bugbear was the height of the bed, this might be good for some disabled people for me at just over 5foot it was a challenge.

Most of our many holidays over more than 50 years have been in self-catering accommodation - both in the UK and abroad. I think that Cedars Lodge is probably the best equipped and most comfortable we have stayed at. Entrance is through the kitchen, which is spacious and with everything even the most demanding of cooks might need: cooker with infraRead more red hob, dishwasher, microwave oven, stick blender etc etc. The stock of cutlery and crockery is very generous for a two-person accommodation. The end of the kitchen has an area containing a breakfast bar and the washing machine/dryer. Our two rescue dogs were very happy to be bedded down in this snug space. The kitchen has a door leading into a square area in the middle of the house, with a coat stand, cabinet and doors leading into the bedroom, bathroom and lounge. The spacious bathroom has a wet-room style shower and heated towel rail, plus the usual. The bedroom has a king-sized bed with a firm, comfortable mattress, and fitted cupboards, drawers and dressing tables. Each side of the bed has a small cabinet and bright bedside light. The lounge has a leather covered suite comprising a three seat and two seat settees, plus and armchair. The TV provides Sky, Netflix and Prime. The broadband WiFi worked well. A windowed door from the lounge leads to the dining/sun lounge area which faces South East, with views over the hillside beyond, so it gets a lot of sun in the morning and is a nice spot to have afternoon tea. There is a dining table with four chairs. The windows have blinds for use in case the sun gets too powerful. The sun lounge has a door leading onto the patio area, which has tables and chairs for al fresco dining and a fire pit style barbecue. The grassy area is a bit smaller than it might appear from the pictures of the property, but perfectly adequate for dogs to do what dogs need to do. Overall, the accommodation is to a very high standard. It is warm, comfortable, pleasing to the eye and surprisingly spacious for just two people. The friendly owners, live in the attached house and gave us a very warm welcome as well as much useful advice about the local area. There are a dozen or so beaches and country walks within half an hour's drive, great places to eat, supermarkets, pubs and tea rooms for traditional Devon cream teas with mega-scones (but don't forget: cream on first, then the jam!)
