A picture-postcard retreat, tucked away in pretty Looe, this delightful cottage is ideal for couples on a romantic break. Sleeping two guests, the one-bedroom former fisherman’s home is on the eastern side of the coastal town, within reach of shops, eateries and beautiful beaches. Explore the town on foot, pausing to stock up on produce in its seafood market. The golden sands of East Looe Beach, popular with swimmers, are just 100 metres away, while Hannafore Beach, with its rockpools, is 1 mile away and is a favourite with walkers and kayakers. Pick up the South West Coast Path from either side of the estuary and head out on a long hike with dramatic views. Cross the river via the bridge and wander 1.5 miles to picturesque Kilminorth Woods. Have a trip to scenic Polperro, 5 miles away, or Polruan, 10.5 miles away, where you can take the ferry over to Fowey.

Step inside this cosy, three-storey cottage where a fisherman would once return to its welcome accommodation after hours spent out on the high seas. With a wealth of original charm, including gorgeous, exposed beams, the carefully renovated retreat now offers reverse-level accommodation to holidaymakers wishing to enjoy the colour of the town and the immense beauty of this part of Cornwall. Carry any shopping you have bought in town through to the open-plan kitchen/diner, where you will find everything you need to help you cater for yourselves. Warm your freshly baked Cornish pasties in the oven, then sit down to have lunch together. Your gorgeous bedroom, with its sumptuous king-size bed and exquisite timberwork, is on the floor above, where it offers all the comfort you require to ensure a superb night’s sleep. The bathroom, where you have the choice of a soak in the tub or a splash in the shower, is also on the first floor alongside the bedroom. Head on up another level to find the lounge, with feature fireplace where you can cuddle up in front of the Smart TV together.

There is no outside area with the cottage, but the beach is 100 metres away. The fresh air and space of the South West Coast Path is 150 metres from the bolthole.

A lovely cottage very near the sea

Situation of cottage ideal but did not live up to the photos. Kitchen very dark and stairs very difficult to navigate, especially if an older person . The grout in the bathroom could do with a good clean. Distinct lack of information- had to guess where the bins were and whether bed to be stripped prior to leaving. It served its purpose. Cottage close to the beach is it's best feature. Property needed a deep clean, shower tile grout mouldy and bkack. Towels supplied were musty smelling and bathmat looked dirty.

We loved this cottage. It had huge character and the location was perfect. Well equipped to cook at home and close to loads of fab places to eat. If we return to Looe, we will return to Tillys.

We had a lovely holiday in Looe. The cottage was so convenient for the beach and shops, it also had everything you needed for a short stay. However, it would benefit from having a mirror in the bedroom, there was one in every other room in the house, I had to go to the sitting room to dry my hair. The bedding was uncomfortable to sleep in as it Read morewas made from polyester, cotton would be more comfortable for guests, especially in the warm weather we have been experiencing. The bedroom could benefit from an actual pair of curtains as opposed to one, which only just covered the window. The oven tray in the cupboard doesn't fit the oven, it's too big. Some of the above was raised by previous guests and comment in the review was that the issues had been addressed, obviously they haven't. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay there. Hide

Great location.No information pack to be found.TV in bedroom doesn't work.Could do with a mirror in bedroom for when drying hair.Could do with pans that actually fit oven.Bathroom window doesn't close and backdoor doesn't open.

This is the 4th time staying at tillys 1st time since alterations more convenient having bedroom on same floor as bathroom ideal location for beach and town thoroughly enjoyed our break

Looe is a beautiful place, and the cottage has lovely character and history, which we genuinely appreciated. However, we were disappointed with the condition on arrival. The property was heavily dusty and musty throughout and needed airing for several hours. Surfaces, crockery and cutlery all needed cleaning before use. The bedding was poor qualityRead more polyester with a stale smell. There was no welcome information of any kind, including no WiFi code. Towel provision was insufficient for a week-long stay. The location is excellent and the building itself is charming, but the overall experience did not match what we expected or paid for. Hide
