  • Cosy up around the wood burner and take in breathtaking views across Loch Linnhe
  • Take a boat trip to spot dolphins, seals, red deer, golden eagles or try fishing or sea kayaking
Property code: OC-83196

This charming bothy offers stunningly wild scenery and plenty of outdoor activities. Whether you enjoy simply walking alongside the sea and taking in the views, or prefer something more active, this is the ideal location. Heading 15 miles north to Fort William, which sits beneath Britain's highest mountain, Ben Nevis, you will discover several outdoor activity centres. From the adrenalin rush of white-water rafting to spotting golden eagles on a leisure cruise on the loch, there is something for everyone. A unique way to enjoy the stunning natural landscape is by steam train – enjoy a nostalgic ride on The Jacobite from Fort William to Mallaig to take in the magnificent views. Alternatively, take one of the many boat trips available on the loch, sit back and relax and watch out for dolphins, seals, red deer and golden eagles.

The entrance to the front of the bothy leads into a boot room with the open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area to your right. The stylish fitted kitchen contains an electric oven, induction hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave, and there is a washer/dryer housed in the boot room. There is a sizeable dining table which nicely breaks up the space between the kitchen and lounge. The lounge has a Smart TV and wood burner with sliding patio doors that provide fantastic views of the loch and the surrounding countryside. Through in the king-size bedroom, there is beautiful hand-crafted wooden furniture and two windows with views of the water. There is a shower room with WC that is accessed from the hallway between the bedroom and main living space.

The garden is mainly laid to lawn and has a perimeter fence – please note though that this fence is not entirely dog-proof as it has been chosen so as to not interfere with the loch views beyond the field in front of the property. There is also livestock in the fields surrounding the estate all year round, so please ensure that dogs are always kept under control. Guests can relax on the patio which contains some garden furniture, where you can enjoy the spectacular views across the horizon. Parking for one car on the gravel driveway is situated at the side of the cottage, where you will find an electric car charging point.

Lovely cottage in a great location. Very peaceful and with view of Loch Linnhe, mountains and red deer in the field in front. The cottage is spacious for two and equipped with everything we needed, with the exception of a few kitchen items. We found the heat pump quite noisy at night, but got used to it over the week. The cottage had incredible views and gave us good access to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula which we wanted. Everything you needed was provided for and a little shop and cafe was 15 mins drive away in Strontian. Harvey was a great host and provided information on lots of things to do during our stay. A beautiful area which we will no doubt return to.

This is undoubtedly a lovely property. The views are fantastic. But we didnt love our stay here and have had better stays elsewhere for a lot less money. Its definitely geared more toward their business needs than your needs as a guest and feeling welcome. We loved this cottage and really bonded with it as a property. My partner and I loved sitting out on the patio and painting while watching the sheep and the beautiful light. The quiet, the view, and the amenities are all top notch, and I really want to come back!
