Set within one of the most popular coastal locations in Yorkshire, this cosy cottage enjoys an elevated position which is found residing in a little street which winds its way down to the ocean in Robin Hood’s Bay. Wainwright's famous coast-to-coast walk starts just a few yards from the doorstep, perfect for keen walkers. Within quarter of a mile are a variety of shops and eateries, while in the opposite direction are the Cleveland Way and Fylingdales (both under 2.5 miles). The pretty cobbled streets, harbour and beaches of Whitby are 5.5 miles away or venture slightly further to the coastal villages of Sandsend, Staithes and Runswick Bay (all under 15.5 miles). Nature lovers will also appreciate a visit to nearby Ravenscar (11 miles), a perfect spot for seal watching around the headland.

The entrance to this quaint period cottage can be found via a flight of stone steps, which lead to a clifftop garden. Step through the doorway to reveal a welcoming kitchen/diner featuring shaker units, a sleek granite worktop and a living flame coal effect gas fire to keep you warm and toasty in the chillier months. The bijou kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need to rustle up dinner for two, there is an induction hob, electric oven and built-in microwave as well as a compact fridge and mini freezer. For the perfect ambience, turn on the living flame coal effect gas fire and settle down at the rustic table to enjoy your cooking with the warm glow of the flames in the background. A characterful lounge provides a snug relaxing space to unwind with an original cast iron fireplace, exposed beams overhead and original stripped pine doors. Sink into the sofa or comfy armchair and enjoy a classic movie together on the TV. Wi-Fi, DVD and a SONOS sound system allow you to listen to your favourite music, and there is also a stack of books and walking guides available. Upstairs you will find a double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and a bathroom next door with a bath and shower overhead, the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the coast. Both the bedroom and bathroom are located in the eaves of the property with low ceiling height.

Outside, a small sheltered terraced garden boasts a patio, bistro table and rattan chairs, an idyllic spot for enjoying an afternoon tipple before heading into the village for dinner. And as darkness falls, a chimenea provides cosy warmth long into the evening. There is also secure bike storage.

A very quirky "bijou" cottage which was spotlessly clean and reasonably comfortable. Excellent access to fantastic walks, and no need to use the car, if you do not want to. Perhaps better suited to short breaks rather than more than a few days. The owner was very helpful and informative.

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location. The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated. It was equipped with everything we needed. Great that our dog was welcome too. Location was excellent - right in the heart of RBH with restaurants, pubs, shops and takeaways right on the doorstep. The beach and cliff walks are a stones-throw away too.
