  • Within easy reach of Stratford upon Avon and many Cotswold villages
  • Great for walkers within easy reach of the Malvern Hills
Property code: OC-81334

Windmill Hill is a peaceful cluster of cottages and farm buildings surrounded by breathtaking countryside; you can enjoy walks from your front door along with a visit to the neighbouring village where they have a local inn. Here you can make the most of both the Cotswolds and the Worcestershire countryside, take a trip to the Malvern Hills or explore some of the many Cotswolds towns and villages. There is a good local network of footpaths, bridleways and lanes that are perfect for walking and cycling. The unspoilt market town of Pershore on the banks of the Avon with its Georgian architecture is a short drive and boasts a magnificent abbey and lovely boutique-style shops surrounded by countryside.

The barn is detached and situated within the grounds of the owner’s home. The front door gives access to a small lobby where you can leave boots and coats behind after a busy day. The ground floor offers open-plan living space with exposed brick and woodwork which is complemented with a contemporary twist. The lounge area is perfect for relaxing, with a sofa and armchair that front the wood burner and TV. The kitchen/dining area has been finished with a contemporary style. There is an island where you can sit to enjoy a simple supper along with a well-equipped kitchen that offers a electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is a utility area with washing machine. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with double walk-in shower and WC. When the day is done, climb the stairs to the bedroom which is within the eaves; here you can enjoy a good night’s rest in the double bed.

Outside to the front of the barn is a table and chairs overlooking the ponds. There is off-road parking for one car. 1 small dog welcome.

What a beautiful stay! Just over the road from a serene sheep field, plenty of space. The fan was needed and a great touch for the bedroom!

We had a wonderful stay at Thorndon Barn Annex betweeen the 24th and 30th April 2026 and were so fortunate to experience some beautiful sunny weather. The Annex is so comfortable and despite a few reviews to the contrary, we found it incredibly well equipped. There was nothing we needed that hadnt been provided. The location is stunning. ThRead moreere is a seating area to the front of the property which we enjoyed for drinks daily as the sunshine had also been so kindly provided! Its quite the sun trap which gets the afternoon and evening sun. The sofa is out of this world, so roomy and comfortable which is most unusual for a rental cottage. The bed, although only a double (we are used to a large European king size) we found it super comfortable and we both slept very well. It was quite warm in the bedroom even though we kept the window open, but didnt realise until we packed up to leave that there was a fan in the wardrobe - totally our fault for not looking! We met and spoke to the owners Tracy and Brian who were both very welcoming and friendly but left us completely to ourselves and were not at all intrusive. The local area is pretty and has plenty of little pubs and places to eat scattered around. We ate out at lunch and made our own meals at home in the evenings and the local Asda and Aldi in Pershore are nearby and great for stocking up. Its also around 50 minutes away from Diddly Squat Farm which we visited and enjoyed (get there by 10am or expect huge queues!). We then drove 25 minutes and ate at the Farmers Puppy, in the GT tent at Jeremy Clarksons pub, The Farmers Dog. Expensive but the food was delicious and we definitely would recommend a visit. It was also around the same distance away from Stratford Upon Avon which we visited on a separate day. Another very enjoyable day out, again boosted by the gorgeous weather. Cant fault this perfect little gem of a cottage which is perfect for a couple. We have taken lots of these mini breaks across the country over the last 10-15 years and this is definitely one of our favourites. Hide

Lovely well presented cottage, was booked for a peaceful get away over New Year. Nice easy location. Just a couple of let downs for us, Bed is creeky when you turn over and duvet very scrunchy noisy. There isn't a garden for if your taking a dog, you have to use the main driveway which meant we couldn't just let the dog out on their own for toilet.Read more The TV buffers constantly, alot of the apps wouldn't load programs which was frustrating. But overall a nice property and very clean and tidy. Hide

The cottage is very well appointed for a couple staying. Everything we needed was provided, all kitchen utensils, tea towels, towels for the toilet and shower. Perfect cottage for our week's break exploring Worcestershire, with easy access to Pershore, Worcester and the Malvern Hills. The local Plough and Harrow pub had only just reopened with a new owner and the kitchens weren't yet ready to serve, which is a pity because its just a short walk away.
