This beautiful pod is set within a riverside position, complete with a countryside backdrop. Set within a private enclosure next to the local pub, this unique retreat boasts a private hot tub and fire pit; it’s the perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring the local area. You can enjoy peaceful walks from the doorstep, or head south and you are in the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which offers the lovely old coastal towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth where you can browse many independent shops, restaurants and cafes, all within 15 miles. Further afield and within 25 miles is The South Devon Railway, the historic naval city of Plymouth, the cathedral city of Exeter and Haldon Forest.

Step inside the rustic, stylish pod and you will see the brilliantly designed and very comfortable studio-style lounge/kitchen/diner/sleeping area. The lounge area features a cosy sofa and smart TV with views overlooking the garden. This space has been well thought out and has ample room to relax and dine, perfect after exploring what South Devon has to offer during the day. The kitchen is compact yet perfectly appointed and boasts all the essentials including a two ring gas hob, combi microwave oven and fridge with an ice compartment. The sleeping area has a comfortable king-size bed and next to this you will see the well laid out shower room with WC.

Moving outside you will step on to a lovely, decked area, with the River Avon next to you making it the perfect place to relax. The decking area overlooks a stunning garden area and also features your own private hot tub and fire pit, making it a great space to spend your evenings or enjoy relaxing in the sauna (dry heat). Private off-road parking for one car is available in the car park directly outside.

I had a lovely three-night stay. The hut was spotlessly clean inside and out, very well equipped, and extremely comfortable. The kitchen had everything I needed, and the bathroom was generously stocked with towels. The hot tub was an amazing experience. Sues help in preparing it every day so it was ready and hot when I returned was a real treasure Read moreand made the stay extra special. Fabulous holiday! The accomodation was clean and very well equipped, set in beautiful grounds. The hot tub was a delight. Sue and the staff at the Avon inn, were very friendly and accomodating and the food at the pub was exceptional. Highly recommended for a short break.

Cottage was a brilliant base for exploring the area. Lovely to come home to a cozy place to chill after a long day. Having the pub literally on your doorstep was a great bonus. The staff were all very friendly and food was great. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed the gardens and the attention from all the customers and staff. Highly recommend

Sue and the team are amazing, very welcoming. The accommodation is perfect for a quiet getaway. Towels are provided for the shower and hot tub at no extra charge. The food in the restaurant is also very good with an outside pub garden menu as well. Would highly recommend a stay .

Great short stay in this comfy little pod, the owners are very welcoming, so are the staff, shown how to use everything on arrival, great hot tub, set in beautifully well kept garden, pub a walk away which was nice, would I recommend, yes, it's a lovely place to stay.

We LOVES our stay at Avon Retreat we found it very easily and its set perfectly between the coast and other walks! We came with our dog and did lots of walks. We even saw a hedgehog in the garden! My husband, dog and I had an amazing stay - the host was so welcoming and she left a lovely welcome pack (the Prosecco & beer were consumed an hour later in the hot tub!). The pod was in a perfect tranquil location, next to the river and we even had pizza delivered from the pub (my husband particularly enjoyed the 1 min walk to the pub for beer!). Lovely pod with everything we needed for our stay in Devon. Great location. Very peaceful as there is only 2 pods on the small site and there was no one staying in the other pod while we where there. The sauna and hot were both great just make sure you get the fire going on the hot tub at least a couple of hours before you want to use it.
