Set above Westward Ho! and benefitting from countryside views, you’ll find this superb cottage. Great for families and friends alike, the location provides a wonderful place to explore, relax and make holiday memories that will last forever. A range of activities and days out can be found nearby. Westward Ho! (1 mile) has an array of seaside amenities as well as being set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The local surf school offers lessons and wetsuit hire, amusement arcades, shops and cafes, crazy golf and restaurants, even the oldest links golf course in the country, The Royal North Devon Golf Club. Other nearby places of interest include the fishing village of Appledore (3.5 miles) with its bustling quayside, narrow streets, pubs, restaurants, and maritime heritage; and Instow (5 miles), with its estuary beach and sand dunes. The Tarka Trail is a traffic-free cycle path with great views. A great pub/restaurant is within 1 mile of the property, perfect for days you don’t fancy cooking.

On entering this beautiful property, take a moment to appreciate the character features such as the exposed beams and bespoke furnishings and design. On the ground floor you will find an open-plan lounge/kitchen with Smart TV, comfortable sofas, breakfast bar, and a well-equipped kitchen area. A handy utility area is situated under the stairs housing the washer/dryer. A dining room sits off the lounge with space for everyone to eat together; French doors lead out to the patio from here. The first of three bedrooms is situated on the ground floor and consists of a king-size bed with cabin bunk beds (suitable for children under 12 years only). This room also has a Smart TV plus an en-suite shower room with heated towel rail and WC. There is also a separate WC on the ground floor. Heading upstairs you will find two further bedrooms, both with king-size beds. One room has a walk-in shower and heated towel rail (no WC) the other has a Smart TV and en-suite with freestanding bath, walk-in shower and heated towel rail. A separate WC can also be found on this floor.

Stepping outside, the property has the benefit of spacious grounds; an enclosed field lends itself to family games of cricket/rounders, all with a wonderful countryside aspect. We visited at the end of January and the cottage was lovely and warm. There was plenty of equipment and seating for 6 adults and a great field for our dog to stretch his legs. The hot tub was a wonderful way to relax after a day walking. We had a fantastic time.

We had a fantastic stay for a week. The big surprise having our own enclosed field for the two dogs. Great location for walks and we were very lucky to have weather to make the most of the hot tub. Would love to return.
