Couples can indulge in a unique and upmarket glamping experience at this cosy hideaway, nestled adjacent to the owners' detached home yet where your privacy is assured. The shepherd’s hut sits conveniently between Barnstaple and Great Torrington in the small village of Newton Tracey. Ideal for accessing the Tarka Trail or the South West Coast path. A superb pub serving excellent food is under 2 miles away and the town of Barnstaple is just 4 miles distant, offering a large selection of bars, restaurants, shops, a cinema, and a theatre. Ramble in the surrounding countryside and if lucky spot deer, foxes, kingfishers, woodpeckers, blue tits, and hares. By arrangement, and for an extra cost (discounted for guests), the owner can offer a falconry experience including a hawk walk and seeing his resident falcons fly.
Approach your glamping home via a private driveway. Climb the steps into the hut to find a delightful open-plan living area that’s snug but uses the space cleverly. The kitchen is well equipped to cook up an evening meal or a hearty breakfast for two, and the electric heater at floor level will keep you toasty warm on cooler days. There is a small dining area with stools to enjoy meals together and a wall-mounted Smart TV. The bedroom has a double bed with views across the fields. The shower room completes the accommodation.
Outside, with uninterrupted views across the adjacent fields you can enjoy a fenced, gravelled area with a table and chairs, fire pit/BBQ, and a bubbling hot tub. Enjoy your days relaxing in the bubbles of the outdoor hot tub, dine alfresco whilst listening to your favourite music through the Smart speaker, or in the evenings just stargaze (nearby Exmoor is one of Europe’s Dark Sky Reserves).
