An elegant two-bedroom lodge in a peaceful spot on the outskirts of Bamburgh, this property is in ideal retreat for a family or friends as they explore this famous town and its beautiful surroundings. Bamburgh (1.5 miles) is well known for the twin highlights of its fabulous castle and stunning stretch of dune-backed beach. Enjoy views of the Farne Islands as you walk the beach or board a boat trip to visit them and their resident colonies of sea birds and Atlantic grey seals. Visit nearby Seahouses (5 miles), a colourful fishing village where you can dine on fresh seafood as you watch the boats come in. Or spend your days exploring the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, a haven for wildlife and walkers alike.

This is a stylish ground-floor lodge with bright, spacious rooms and floor-to-ceiling windows which fill the property with natural light. Enter through a utility area where you’ll find laundry facilities and plenty of space to store outdoor coats and shoes. Then, continue through to the open-plan living area, an airy, high-ceilinged space furnished with style and comfort in mind. The lounge features large windows, several cosy sofas, a Smart TV and a multi-fuel stove for cosy evenings in. The fireplace partially separates the lounge from the kitchen/dining area, a lovely room finished to a high standard and equipped with everything you need. The wall of windows in the kitchen looks directly out at Bamburgh Castle. The lodge has two bedrooms, one king-size with an en-suite shower room, and one room with zip-and-link beds, which can be made up as twins or a king-size depending on your party’s needs. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage and contain TVs and DVD players. A sleek, shared bathroom completes the cottage.

Bi-fold doors lead from the kitchen to the decking, a sunny space with a glass railing which encloses the deck without blocking the view. Furnished with a table and chairs, it makes a beautiful place to sit and relax in full view of the iconic Bamburgh Castle.

Overall we really enjoyed our holiday, however we thought the lodge was on its own and found there was about 20 other lodges, luckily because it was quiet it didnt matter but wouldnt of been impressed if all lodges were full and site was busy ( photos a little misleading) The shower cubicle and the skylight had to be cleaned of mould and siliconeRead mored, shouldve been done before we arrived Really nice lodges, location close to areas we like to visit too We would visit lodges again but only at quiet periods and we have recommended to friends Hide

Firstly I would recommend this lodge it has fantastic views of the castle. It is on a quiet road which is the back road to Budle Bay. It does have other lodges either side of it so not really private if thats what you want. I did ask up front about privacy so was a bit disappointed that it wasnt more private as I was told it was the most private onRead moree, having said that we would return and not be put off by this. I agree with previous reviews regarding having to turn on the boiler to make sure you have hot water etc as this is not anything that you are advised of before check in or even as and when you arrive. It took quite sometime to get through to the office to understand why we had no hot water on the first day. The main en-suite bedroom is only a double bed and so quite small but we are used to at least a king size bed. The other issue we had was a very over flowing refuse bin which clearly had not been emptied for a few rentals after making the office aware they did attend to it the next day. All in all a lovely place to stay but could be even better with just small attention to detail issues which could be avoided. Hide

We arrived to a very well equipped property and although we had been told the house would not be decorated for Christmas and took our own tree, there was a lovely tree with lights already in situ. We were also cooking Christmas dinner so it was important to have all the necessary things to make it feel like we were in our own kitchen and the house Read moredid not disappoint. The lodge has a fabulous view and we were lucky to see some lovely sunrises/sunsets. Has a little issue with the boiler on arrival which was promptly dealt with. Great Christmas spent in Bamburgh and Seahouses which offer some great eating spots too. Hide

Whilst the location of the lodge was fab, there are a few points that need to be addressed. On arrival, the TV remote did not work, we had to source alternate batteries. This surely should be checked. The visitor book was lacking in information and did not make it clear that we, as the guest, had to turn the boiler on to heat our own water. UnfoRead morertunately, there was enough hot water in the system for us to not notice this on the first day. However, when there was no hot water on the second day, we had to investigate this and found a note pinned to the boiler stating we needed to turn this on, on the day of arrival in order to have water the next day. Bramble Lodge is perfectly located in a quiet development just outside Bamburgh. The lodge is well equipped, really comfortable and pet friendly. We enjoyed the woodland walk from the door of the lodge with the dog and were able to travel just a couple of miles by car to Bamburgh beach for a run-around. A lovely stay in a beautiful property.

Due to unforseen circumstances, we were a couple of days late arriving at the lodge. On arriving at the lodge we were greeted by a bag of dog poo which was sat on the veranda obviously forgotten about. The floors had not been washed, the bath tub had grime in it, there was a vase a dead roses, the welcome pack had sour milk in it, there was a diRead morerty towel still hanging behind the door of the bedroom, the kitchen floor had not been swept, the whole of the lodge was dusty, blinds to the bedrooms were bent back at both sides, the games drawer in the centre of the living room contained a mess of disorganised clear ups, most of all the door handles & actual doors had heavy greased/make up hand prints on them. All of the skirting boards had not been wiped. We cleared as much as we could as we went along but found it quite tedious to say the least. We took photographs of our discovering which we have kept on file. Hide
