This stone-clad former outbuilding has been cleverly converted into an impressive studio property that’s a welcoming getaway for one or two people. Located in the village of Cerrigydrudion, it is surrounded by hills, mountains, lakes and open countryside, and less than 100m from a lovely local pub. If you have ever wanted to try a sled dog ride or husky hiking, now’s your chance, as Mynydd Sled Dog Adventures is just 2 miles away, while Llyn Brenig, a centre for walking, biking, sailing, fishing and more, is 4.5 miles. A 12-mile drive will take you to the magical Fairy Glen (Ffos Anoddun) with a challenging river walk and wild swimming.

Enter this inviting retreat down a flight of external stone steps and straight into the bespoke kitchen with its modern units, sleek tiling and breakfast bar with industrial-style stools. Here you have everything necessary for preparing all kinds of delicious meals. In fact, there are many clever ideas in this cottage, one of them being a specially commissioned wall map that illustrates all the great places to visit nearby, mounted in front of your dining area so you can peruse and discuss during your meals. A sliding, barn-style door separates the kitchen from the lounge, which is ingeniously designed to transform into a bedroom at night. Here, a comfortable sofa, with bookcases and lights either side, faces a TV and a flame-effect electric fire. The room is light and airy, thanks to the high ceilings with lovely, exposed beams, a glazed, high-level partition and a skylight window. When it’s time to turn in, simply close the motorised blind and, with one-handed operation, pull down the Italian-designed wall bed to reveal a king-size, memory foam mattress. A built-in oak dressing table and mirror, with a hanging rail and shelves for clothes, a storage area for luggage and a luxurious en-suite shower room complete the interior.

For enjoying warmer evenings in the fresh air, a delightful patio adjoins the cottage with a table, chairs and parasol. The piece de resistance? Tucked away down the stairs … your very own hot tub.

The property is beautiful in every way. Everything is well thought out, you have everything you need. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and it isn't far to places like Wrexham, Chester, Ellesmere Port and Llandudno. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to other couples looking for a quiet place to stay.

Such a delightful getaway for two! 2 pubs and a shop within walking distance and beautiful scenery is just a few minutes walk or drive. Easy access into and out of the property to the main road so it's easy to travel from. The little cottage is very cleverly laid out and fitted. Comfortable and private with its own patio and hot tub! Sublime!

The cottage was very well equipped and the owners were helpful. The bedroom/living room is a bit small but it was sufficient for our needs. The private patio is also quite small and not super private at can be seen by the road and a window.

The cottage is beautiful and in a lovely quiet location. However, those with mobility issues would struggle with getting the bed out every night and the very low sofa, which we found difficult to get up from. Nice kitchen, well equipped, but once again, older guests with mobility issues would struggle with the high stools at the breakfast bar. HRead moreot tub lovely and relaxing. Hide
