NEW HOMEOWNERS

Peacefully situated in the West Lyn Valley and surrounded by the natural splendour of Exmoor, this spacious country retreat is the ideal getaway for families or a group of friends seeking to escape it all. This retreat is a haven for walkers and nature lovers, located on a quiet country lane that leads directly onto open moorland with easy access to dramatic coastal and riverside walks. Just 2 miles away, the picturesque twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth are connected by a unique water-powered cliff railway and are home to a wonderful selection of individual shops, cafes and restaurants. Plenty of activities are available locally, including riding, fishing, tennis courts, bowls and even stargazing, as Exmoor is a designated Dark Sky area. The Valley of Rocks, 1 mile west of Lynton, is famous for its herds of goats, geology, and stunning sunset views. The beautiful sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde are a surfer's paradise and make for a fantastic 25-mile day trip.

This cottage has been carefully converted from an original barn and furnished and equipped to a high standard throughout. Entering through glazed doors, you are welcomed by an open-plan living area with a high vaulted ceiling and exposed wooden beams. Comfy seating provides ample space for lounging after an active day, and a lovely kitchen and dining area has all you’ll need should you decide to dine in. A staircase leads up to a mezzanine floor where a bedroom with a king-size bed opens onto the vaulted living space and overlooks the living room below. A shower room is also on this level. Two more attractive bedrooms can be found on the lower ground floor, one king-size with an en-suite shower room and the other a twin room served by a family bathroom.

Outside, the cottage has a fully enclosed garden with a patio and a gas BBQ for those balmy West Country evenings.

Please note: Due to the gravel paths, steps and stairs the property is not suitable for people with mobility issues.

A very comfortable property in a beautiful area, peaceful and on the edge of Exmoor , in fact within walking distance . A short drive from Linton and Lynmouth.

Well-appointed, clean and comfortable cottage close to A39 and local shop-filling station. Relaxing yet close to other attractions in north Devon and Exmoor. We have no fault to find with this property.

We enjoyed our stay, comfortable beds, good towels and delicious cake! Good walks from the cottage, near to Lynmouth for buses. Enjoyed a meal at Thai Restaurant at Lynbridge and The Osk Rooms in Lynton for Tapas.

We had a fantastic stay at Hawthorn Cottage which suited our needs perfectly. There was plenty of space for our family of 6 plus our dog and it was extremely comfortable and clean. The owners had even put up a Christmas tree for us which was very much appreciated by our children! Lovely location too.

The property was located up a very very steep single track road It was impossible to walk my dog from the property any distance due the steepness The property could have been cleaner and the bedrooms downstairs could have been aired and warmer Not sure if it had been used recently as the grass was uncut and rather long Owner did cut the small patRead morech of grass in the enclosure after a couple of days The over all impression was that it wasnt well maintained- owner told us it was on the market as she had a viewing booked. Owner was lovely baked us a cake on arrival Lovely area although off the beaten track Hide
