This beautiful, terraced cottage in the picturesque village of Bishopstone is centrally located, with easy pedestrian access to village amenities as well as good access to main routes and attractions in the area. If you enjoy peaceful walks, cycling, or simply taking in the natural beauty, you will find plenty of opportunities in and around the area. Walking trails from the village will take you on to the Ridgeway, a national trail that takes in stunning scenery and views. Visit one of the best-known prehistoric sites in Britain at nearby Avebury (17 miles), a Neolithic henge monument containing three stone circles. The cottage is also a fantastic base for exploring the nearby Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with Cirencester, ‘The Capital of the Cotswolds’, based 21 miles away. Explore the charming shops and pubs or one of the museums that will give you an insight into the history of the area.

After a busy day exploring, head back into your warm and inviting cottage. As you enter, kick off your walking boots and hang up your jackets in the entrance hall. This area leads you into the useful utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and also the bright and spacious kitchen/diner. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for a self-catered break, and there is a dining table that will comfortably seat four people. Step into the inviting lounge with a stunning bay window which brings in south-facing light and warmth. Relax on the comfortable sofas in front of the lovely wood burner or pop a movie on the Smart TV. There is also a writing desk which is a great space for a workstation for anyone needing to work from home, utilising the super-fast Wi-Fi offered here. Moving upstairs, you will find two large bedrooms with south-facing windows and views. The first bedroom has a king-size bed and the second has a single. Next door, you will find the family bathroom. The lounge does have a sofa bed for use by an additional guest if requested upon booking.

Patio doors from the kitchen lead you out to the enclosed garden area. The south-facing patio has a bistro table and chairs where you can dine alfresco with stunning views across the Ridgeway. The steps from the patio lead down to the lower garden where you will find a decked area with seating, providing a lovely little suntrap to enjoy. Across the lawn, you will find a gate with steps down to the village footpath, known as ‘The City’. From here, you can enjoy walks around the village and out into the surrounding countryside.

Wonderful few days in a beautiful village. Loved the chalk streams and the pond a lovely short circular walk from the bottom of the garden. Pub was a little pricey but worth it for the excellent food and service. Cottage was spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you could need, and an enclosed back garden for our Labrador. Lovely, comfortable cottage, beautifully presented, in very pretty village with friendly pub and farm shop. Plenty to explore close by. Right on the Ridgeway for walks, but take good boots - paths can be waterlogged until out into the downland.

Really enjoyed my month's stay at Brigadoon. It is in a lovely village on the doorstep of the ridgeway and there are many places to visit well within driving distance. Would definitely stay again.
