Situated on the side of a hill in a quiet spot in the area of Matterdale, is this beautiful part of the Lake District; located just over a mile away from the beautiful Aira Force waterfall where you can walk up to Gowbarrow terrace for spectacular views of Ullswater. Make the 4.5 mile trip to Glenridding where you can board an Ullswater Steamer and enjoy a cruise of the lake. Jump off at Howtown, where you can walk to Glenridding and catch the boat back to Pooley Bridge. This was one of Wordsworth's favourite walks and offers views of Ullswater and Helvellyn. The views from the property are outstanding, and if you can drag yourself away you can enjoy a day at Whinlatter Forest which is under 20 miles away, with some great bike tracks, walking and running trails. Go Ape is brilliant for those wanting to get their adrenalin pumping.

This cosy but spacious cottage is one end of a larger house and has stunning views out over the valley. Entering the property via a small covered entrance, you will walk into the lobby which has a handy WC and utility room just off the entrance. Down three steps is the spacious welcoming lounge with wood burner and elegant window which you will rarely want to close due to the stunning views! Head up two steps from the lounge into the bright kitchen which has a dining area overlooking stunning fells and open countryside. It is the ideal spot to enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading out to explore, or have a romantic meal in the evening while looking out to the star filled skies. Head up to the first floor from the stairs which lead from the lounge, here you will find a king-size bedroom which has two windows overlooking the fells, this view is just a dream to wake up to! There is a bathroom next door with a bath to enjoy a good long soak after a long day walking or cycling!

There is a pretty, enclosed garden to the front of the cottage with a stream running through it, which is a great place to sit with a morning coffee or a good book on a sunny day

Lovely cottage well equipped and comfortable. Tranquil beautiful location if looking for a relaxing stay. Walks from the door is a bonus and a pub in walking distance.

This is a beautifully presented and warm cottage with stunning views. Very well set out and great parking. Very comfortable with thought put into nearly everything. ( Take milk as there was none to start you off but there was tea/ coffee). Lovely hot shower over bath and good to have anti- slip pads on bath and a hand rail ( very important feature Read morefor myself due to arthritic mobility issues) we would definitely stay here again. We had a lovely week at Teacher's Cottage in mixed weather. The kitchen was ideal for Pam to paint from with lovely views and plenty of table space. We enjoyed lots of walks from the door and particularly liked Aira Force and the woods around it when the weather wasn't great. We would like to return and will recommend to friends and family.

Loved it , loved it! The perfect setting, swallows every morning, mist over the lake, just wonderful.Even though the cottage was for two ,it was very spacious and very comfortable. Equipment was second to none, even rucksacks and walking poles. Hope to be back next year.

Lovely cottage. Quiet location with lots of options for walks. Watch out for the tight turn opposite the church into the lane the cottage is located at the end of.

A lovely cottage in a stunning location. The cottage itself was comfortable and very well equipped. There were plenty of walks in the local area. The garden was really secure so our dog had a great time too.

This cottage is in a beautiful location, quiet, peaceful and amazing views. Kitted out with everything you need, right down to binoculars, backpacks and even a spare pair of wellies. It really is home from home.

This cottage was in an absolutely superb location with stunning views. It was comfortable and very well equipped . There were a few teething problems possibly from being a new let which were eventually sorted out and the company that manage the property were responsive and helpful.
