This delightful barn conversion provides a quirky, rural retreat which is ideal for friends and family looking for a relaxing break in the heart of a gorgeous village in Northamptonshire. The village has a great local pub 350 metres from the property, perfect to visit on an evening after a day exploring the area. This part of the country has some lovely walks including some great woodland trails in the nearby Badby Woods (3.5 miles). Also worth a visit is the National Trust-owned Canons Ashby (9.5 miles), a Tudor manor house with stunning gardens and a tearoom. Slightly further afield, but perfect for a day trip, are two of the most popular towns in the Midlands, Warwick (19.5 miles) and Stratford-upon-Avon (29.5 miles). Enjoy a stroll around the medieval castle in Warwick and visit the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford. For motorsport enthusiasts, Silverstone is just 19.5 miles from the property.

Head into the cottage through the convenient carport, and on the ground floor, you will find the main living area, with an open-plan lounge/diner, and a separate kitchen. The lounge retains many original features and there is a lovely wood burner which gives a homely cottage feel in the cooler months. Relax in front of the fire on the comfortable sofas whilst enjoying a movie on the Smart TV with Sky package. This space also has a dining table that will comfortably seat six. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you would need for a self-catered break, and there is a separate table and chairs to enjoy your breakfast. The kitchen has all the modern amenities you would expect whilst retaining a countryside charm. Back through the main hallway is a ground-floor double bedroom with a shower room next door. Moving upstairs, there are two further bedrooms, one king-size, and one double which can be made up as twin beds on request. The quirkiness of the original barn is evident throughout the property but mainly upstairs, with vaulted ceilings and two separate staircases that lead up to the individual bedrooms.

This property has a lovely, enclosed garden with a patio area that has outdoor furniture. Enjoy al fresco dining in the warmer months.

We had a lovely holiday at Carpenters Barn. We used it as a base whilst visiting family in Northamptonshire and found lots to do in the surrounding area. Great day trips to Drayton Manor, Twycross and Stratford-upon-Avon. The village itself is lovely and peaceful with walks and a nice little park for the little ones and a pub serving delicious foodRead more. Hide

We enjoyed the barn as a family. Great place, great hosts. Staverton has charm. Perfect location for us to explore the surrounding area. Communication with the hosts was excellent, they are super friendly and understanding. The upstairs rooms are accessible through separate entrances. Perfect if kids go to bed earlier than siblings. The upstairs roRead moreoms are ring-horned - as a family this was obsolutely fine. The first few days were a bit chilly - the central heating did its job reliably! Hide

Lovely well appointed characterful cottage in a beautiful village. Great local walks and village pub. The host is extremely helpful, and nothing was too much trouble for him, would highly recommend. Only caution would be that the stairs are steep to the upper rooms but there is a full bedroom and bathroom downstairs.
