Handcrafted, shepherd’s hut close to Bamburgh on the Northumberland coast, perfect for couples looking for a cosy getaway to experience a little fun, the simpler life, and picturesque local attractions.

This village is perfectly located as a base to explore the magnificent unspoilt Northumberland coastline, castles, and countryside, stroll to the nearby gastro pub of an evening to enjoy dinner and drinks. The medieval town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed and the picture postcard seaside village of Bamburgh with its magnificent castle, glorious sandy beaches and delightful independent shops, bars and restaurants (4 miles) are close at hand. Walk to Seahouses Harbour (7 miles) along the coastal path for a boat trip to the Farne Islands and spot the many bird species, including puffins in the breeding season and, of course, lovable seals. Enjoy a trip to Holy Island of Lindisfarne, with its unique access across its tidal causeway. Visit the historic marketing towns of Alnwick famed for its Castle used in the Harry Potter films, Craster for seafood and Dunstanburgh Castle, Beadnell Bay  for a superb beach, Warkworth’s medieval castle, Rothbury’s Cragside Hall, and Wooler for the Cheviot Hills.

This beautifully presented shepherd’s hut enjoys an attractive area within the grounds of the owner’s land with open countryside and farmland all around. Step up three steps to find the welcoming open-plan living/dining/sleeping area with a cosy wood burner in the corner for those cooler evenings. There is an electric kettle to make your morning cup of coffee, a fridge with an icebox  and electric socket to charge your devices . You also have access to the well-appointed shared kitchen with microwaves, washing up facilities, further electric sockets and a washing machine. At bedtime, enjoy a restful night’s sleep on the double bed after a day exploring the beaches and seaside villages. There are a couple of storage cupboards under the bed for your things, along with pretty tea lights and side table light provided for the ambience. The contemporary shower room features a walk-in shower and WC.

Outside, relax in the private garden area with a wooden table and chairs where you can eat breakfast or enjoy a BBQ and evening drinks before some stargazing. Take your drinks with you and cosy up inside the spacious wooden tepee with a warming central firepit and maybe chat with guests from the two other huts on the grounds. Off-road parking for one car is available.

The fisherman's hut was our 3rd shepherd hut we stayed in so we could compare. But to be honest the hut was just perfect for us! It was well described on the website what is including so it is actually on people preferences whether they would picked it up as their choice. We had access to other amenities such as extra kitchen. The hut was well cleaRead moren, bed comfy. The surrounding were outstanding and the location is just perfect to see all the favorite spots to explore. Hide

Lovely place to stay taking into account space limitations of the hut -the shared facilities make up for this . Nice to have option of good cooked breakfast in the farmhouse also . Owner lovely and v helpful . Nice pub/restaurant in village and also a Spa with pool. Only 4 miles to Bamburgh with its stunning Castle and beaches , selection of cafes Read moreand restaurants plus a famous butchers . Fabulous and comfortable Shepherds Hut in a lovely quiet location. Beautiful modern barbecue area to cook on. Kitchen area to make drinks and wash up. Lovely owners on site near by. If you want to get away from fast modern life we would really recommend.

The fisherman's hut was perfect, hosts were lovely and welcoming. Excellent facilities. Will also be cosy in the winter too. Has everything you need for a relaxing break and will definitely return.

Lovely, cosy and well appointed hut. Loved the communal round house and log burners. Great access to Bamburgh, Budle Bay and Sea Houses. Local spa and pub both excellent. Would definitely recommend.
