Recently renovated cottage near the village of Eskdale, perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway with an abundance of space and plenty on offer nearby.

Situated on the outskirts of Eskdale, this newly renovated cottage is perfect for a couples’ retreat with everything you need nearby. The quaint village of Eskdale Green is only a stone's throw away and is a lovely walk. In the village is the local shop and pub which showcase the traditional and local side of the lakes. Plenty of walks are available straight from your door or if you are an avid walker, head along to the world-famous Scafell Pike or Wasdale Head. 7 miles away is the western coastline with sandy beaches, ideal for a family day out or head to Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, which is only half a mile away.

Through the front door, you are straight into the kitchen which has been tastefully designed with ease of cooking in mind. First off is the main kitchen with all you need including an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is a dining area with a rustic oak dining table and chairs. Up one step and you’re into the utility room with its washing machine, boot dryer and hanging area. Up the flight of stairs, we have the rest of this lovely cottage starting with the lounge which is the hub of the house. There are amazing views over the valley which stretch far beyond on those summer days. Here we have a three-seater sofa, open fire and smart TV, perfect for a romantic night with a movie. Along the hallway, we have the master bedroom with a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made into a twin on request) and finally, there is the shower room with shower and WC.

The garden, across the road, is fully enclosed and has a lawn area and patio. Please note this is an access road to the village and therefore can become busy during peak periods. The garden is perfect for a romantic meal or a glass of wine and enjoying those amazing views. There is private parking for one car. This property has a private spring water supply.

Such a wonderfully placed cottage in one of our favourite parts of the Lakes. The cottage was very roomy, spotlessly clean and with everything on hand. The bed was comfortable and huge with beautiful crisp white linen. Wonderful Walks from the door, we loved it and would recommend without hesitation.

We had a wonderful week at Forge Cottage. This is one of the most well equipped, clean and beautiful cottages we've ever stayed in. Forge Cottage is beautifully restored and tastefully decorated to a high standard. Everything was provided both for humans and dog guests. We loved the little touches like paw prints on spare towels and blankets .

We loved our stay at this cottage! It has been decorated really beautifully, and is super spacious and comfortable. It also has a really well equipped kitchen compared to a lot of other places we have stayed. You can tell a lot of thought and effort has been put into the space. The area is stunning, although it is quite remote so your own transportRead more would probably be needed. We will definitely be returning when we visit the area again, and highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Hide
