Or why not visit the historic city of Carlisle, with its abundance of shops, bars, restaurants and easy access to Hadrians Wall which is only 8 miles away. Just 19 miles from your door is the National Trust’s Acorn Bank Garden and Watermill. Spend time wandering the amazing herb collection and fruit orchards before browsing the book shop and enjoying a cup of tea and a treat in the café.
