Nearby Cartmel has an array of charming shops, pubs and two renowned starred restaurants; a wonderful destination for foodies, as well as the 12th century Priory. There are many great local walks to enjoy along the shoreline or nearby fells such as Howbarrow and Hampsfell with magnificent views out across Morecambe Bay and towards the peaks of the Lake District. Heading into this fantastic region you can enjoy, within a short distance, a range of outdoor pursuits around Windermere and Coniston from simple walks and horse-riding to more challenging sports such as climbing and mountain biking.

On entering the property, you firstly enter the porch with storage for your coats and boots. Onward into the cosy lounge which has been tastefully decorated and compliments the cottage’s original features. There is a wood burner, large sofa, armchair, dining table and chairs, along with a Smart TV and Bluetooth radio/speaker. Heading through into the kitchen you will find an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and washing machine as well as an abundance of storage for the holiday ahead. There is also a handy covered area for muddy boots, dog leads and coats outside the door. Upstairs to the first floor you will find two pretty double bedrooms with views across the village plus a separate dressing room equipped with dressing table and wardrobe. Last but no means least is the shower room equipped with underfloor heating, rainfall shower, basin with vanity unit and WC.

Great little cottage, 5 mins walk from the train station in Cark. 45 mins walk from Carmel and clost to a lot of attractions in the lake district. Comfortable, well equipped and nice and warm in the winter! Had a great week here.

We found it a bit dark, but it is a cottage and the time of year not conductive to long sunny days. They have really made the most of the outside space they have.

Lovely cosy cottage. Great location to travel out to the best areas of the Lake District, but stay in a quiet rural location. We had great weather whilst at The Fold, so we had a truly wonderful time.

Beautiful cottage inside and out, perfect walks straight from the doorstep and a lovey little location as in walking distance of pubs, shop and takeaway. We hope to return again in the near future with our little dog and would not hesitate in recommending it to others. Thank you for a wonderful week.

We had a fantastic holiday at Folds End Cottage had everything we needed and more. Comfortable sofa and beds. Lovely shower. Well equipped kitchen. Parking can be an issue but we were able to get parked behind the pub. Best of both worlds as we used the log burner the first couple of days then the weather improved and it was great to sit outside anRead mored soak up the sun. Great location for touring the lakes. Pub within 50 yards of the front door. Highly recommended Hide
