Located in the popular village of Cartmel, a short drive from the shores of Lake Windermere. The village boats excellent restaurants, local and specialised shops and the well-known Cartmel Racecourse, which is a superb day out. The seaside resort of Grange-over-Sands is a lovely place to spend the day exploring the attractions on the town’s promenade and is only a short drive away. Heading out of the village, this is a fantastic position for enjoying the great outdoors, just a short distance from the edge of the Lake District, within easy reach of both Lake Windermere and Coniston Water, as well as the stunning landscape between the two lakes with a range of outdoor pursuits from simple walks to more challenging sports such as climbing, canyoning, and gorge walking.

Enter this property into the long majestic hallway which instantly makes you feel at home. Firstly, to the left, is the lovely spacious lounge with wood burner built into the old hearth which is perfect for relaxing in front of after a day’s activities. You will also find a large sofa with along with armchairs, Smart TV and a small table and chairs. On the right of the hall you will find a large double bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC. At the end of the hall you will arrive into the superb kitchen/diner with high ceilings and expansive skylights. The island is a great spot to prepare the ideal meal along with the gas oven and hob, microwave, AGA, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. In the dining area you will find table and chairs with patio doors leading out to the large enclosed garden. Heading upstairs to the first floor, you will find the large master bedroom to your right with built-in wardrobe and king-size bed. Further down the hall you will find the stylish bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. To the end of the hall you will enter the large bedroom which has a triple bunk bed with double bed with single over with an abundance of space with seating area with a sofa bed that can be made up for two guests. Finally, is the cosy double bedroom.

Outside is the large patio area with hot tub, decking and seating, ideal for a lovely evening al fresco dining, which is an ideal place to relax and watch the stars. There is roadside parking, subject to availability.

The location of this cottage is perfect - central to the village and all amenities. Whilst you have to park at the racecourse the cost is only 35 for 7 days which we felt very reasonable. We loved the Aga and had a very comfortable stay, although cottage needs some repairs and improvements, and cleaning could be better. Local shops and pubs all witRead morehin walking distance was fabulous, and we enjoyed long walks with our dogs in the Lakes. Note not safe to walk dogs on Grange Over Sands beach. Hide

Location for the cottage was great, right in the centre of Cartmel. The owners were helpful and great too. The property has so much potential, but reading over the other reviews from after my booking, I would agree with after having visited. It needs freshening up to keep to the standards rated. This Property is ideally situated in the centre of Cartmel. Great house for our family Christmas get together. Very comfortable to relax and unwind. Responsive owner. Have already recommended to friends and hope to return at some point.

Cartmel is a lovely beautiful village with a wide choice of venues for eating out and entertainment. And all within east walking distance, good sized rooms, lovely and peaceful.

Lovely stay in this cottage - it was very clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a real bonus. The location in the centre of Cartmel is ideal for exploring the area.

Spacious and well equipped cottage. The location was great for us, next to a bar with live music and fresh pizzas, perfect for an evening dog walk and drink after. Lots of pubs and cafes nearby. The parking is 5-10 mins walk away at the racecourse, you can pay for a whole week, but you can park outside for shorter times and to drop off and pick up.Read more Hot tub was perfect after a day at the lake, few finishing touches needed and downstairs shower doesnt really work but overall lovely place. We arrived for a week to include the end of June raceweekend. The cottage is in the most wonderful location, close to everything you'd want to get to, and the locals are lovely. The cottage itself is needing a bit TLC. The beds were lovely and comfortable. Could have done with more pans for the halogen hob. Otherwise plenty of crockery, cutlery andRead more glasses. Well lets start with the good bits. Cartmel is a beautiful small Village , with great dining options . The property however was a real let down. We hired this as a surprise milestone birthday gift for a group of 4. The downstairs shower room wasn't draining away, so the 4 adults were having to use one bathroom. Problem known by owner and when reporRead moreted . Not fixed during our stay . TV SKY Q needed a full reconnect which we got from You Tube. No instructions. Worth the 2K plus paid for it ? No Hide

Very comfortable cottage in a fab location. We used the race course car park and had no issues with this. Cottage was lacking a bit of TLC, the heating has a mind of its own! Hot tub was lovely, we enjoyed very good weather so got lots of use of it. Lovely pubs and beer gardens within minutes walk. Would definitely return.

Beautiful property in a gorgeous village. The layout and design were wonderful and all of our party commented on the dining conservatory; we'd love one in our own homes. Lovely listening to the rain pattering down or the sun beaming through. The hot tub was a real treat too and easily fit 6-8 guests! We'll be returning very soon, I'm sure.

Fabulous property. Good value for money. Very clean and cosy with everything we needed. Great location. Only problem was the parking, pricey at the Racecourse. Owner very friendly and approachable.

Lovely cottage, fab location and with good local amenities. Fab walks for dogs. Hot tub and logburner were great. Excellent location, very comfortable and well equipped for 7 adults 1 baby ( apart from the high chair) and dog. Clean and fresh smelling throughout. Parking tricky especially for less mobile people ( we had an elderly lady and a chap recovering with a leg injury) but racecourse parking affordable and in easy reach.
