This property enjoys an idyllic rural location, looking across the meadows and fells of the Lake District towards the imposing mountain of the Old Man of Coniston, which not only provides a stunning backdrop, but is also the perfect place for enjoying scenic walks as well as more challenging hikes, depending on the chosen route. Just a short distance from the foot of the mountain, the village of Coniston has a range of shops and pubs, and is also home to a boating centre from where visitors can hire sailing boats, paddleboards, and canoes. For a more relaxing trip on the lake, the restored Victorian steamers also leave from the village pier and provide the perfect way to really take in the beautiful scenery of the lake and the surrounding landscape.

 

Approaching this property up the tree-lined private drive, guest will come to the parking area from where several steps lead down to the property’s private entrance. Once inside, an internal staircase leads to the property’s living space which occupies the first floor of this former-coach house. Once upstairs, guests will find a stylish room with contemporary furnishings, which is flooded with light thanks to the large patio door. A wood burner sits in the fireplace, the warmth from which can be enjoyed from the comfortable sofa which is also the perfect spot to relax and unwind in front of a film on the Smart TV (Full Sky TV package inc. Sky Sports and Sky Movies as well as Netflix and Disney+). The dining table is situated so that guests can enjoy the spectacular views whilst they eat, whilst the separate kitchen is modestly-sized yet well-equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, and dishwasher, whilst the freezer, washing machine, and tumble dryer are located in the separate utility room on the ground floor, which can also be used for storing bikes and leaving muddy boots. Continuing on down the hallway from the kitchen, the bedroom is a chic double room is finished in stylish muted colours and offers far-reaching countryside views from the window. The shower room, meanwhile, is fully-tiled and offers a shower and WC.

 

The property benefits from a decked balcony where there the table and chairs provide the perfect space to enjoy alfresco drinks and meals whilst taking in the magnificent views. In addition to this, there is a private patio area which offers more space and comes with a gas BBQ. In a fantastic addition to the property, guests have access to the owner’s well-equipped gym which is located on the ground floor of the building. The property also has superfast fibre broadband so great if you will need your connectivity. There is off-road parking for two cars.

This is a really lovely place to stay. The cottage is roomy, comfortable, cosy and well- equipped. It has gorgeous views and is in a perfect location for accessing the central and southern Lake District and the coast. The hosts are exceptionally nice and can't do enough. Terrific welcome pack!

The location of this lovely cottage is fantastic! Easy access to local walks, and local pub is friendly and very clean. Coniston village and local stores are probably a little too far to walk, so bringing supplies with you is recommended. That leads to next super positive aspect, storage! The cottage provided us with everything we needed for a peaceful break, in a lovely setting. The hosts were very welcoming and the welcome basket was a treat after the journey from home. Couldn't fault our accommodation, the place was lovely, very well & thoughtfully equipped for all our needs - and more. The decor at Mountain View is lovely, a lot of thought has gone in, and reflects in a very relaxing break. Views from every window and the from the decked balcony are superb. The cottage is very well eqipped, in a peaceful location and is a fantastic base for exploring all the Lakes and the beautiful surrounding countryside whether driving or walking. We really enjoyed our stay, beautiful, peaceful surroundings, watching deer in one of the near by fields whilst eating breakfast. We found the accommodation very comfortable and cosy. This is a comfortable and well-equipped cottage in picturesque and peaceful surroundings, with lovely views all around. You could not ask for a better place from which to explore the Southern Lakes. We really enjoyed our weeks stay at this lovely cottage. The friendly owners were really accommodating and always available should the need arise. We had a very pleasant weeks stay eating our breakfast on the balcony most days. Coniston village only 10 minutes away with its ferries and Hill Top and Dove Cottage not too far. Stunning views and warm cosy feel to the place. Short distance from Coniston with lots of walks near by, absolutely perfect for dogs, we have a nervous rescue Collie and it was her first holiday. A lovely week in the Lake District. Cold but invigorating, brutal and stunning at this time of year. The waterfalls in full flow. Even snow for a couple of days. Not all restaurants, pubs and facilities are open but enough to keep you going. Our accommodation was delightful as were the hosts Graham and Judy. Cant wait to go back.

1st visit to Mountain View, perfect for us regarding location, facilities and peaceful. Centrally placed for most central and southern lakes whilst Ulverston for shopping. Lovely walks up Beacon Fell, Coniston to Tarn Hows. A walk upto the Sir John Barrow monument in Ulverston with wonderful views south with panoramic view of the lakeland peaks. Another wonderful stay at Mountain View. This is our third visit and we enjoyed our stay just as much as the first time. The owners, Judy and Graham are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They also leave an exceptional welcome pack.
