Castleton, set in the heart of the Esk Dale, with shop, tearoom and pubs a short walk from this grade II listed cottage. Why not take the train along the scenic railway line to Whitby and spend a day exploring the alleyways and cobbled streets which offer an eclectic mix of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Slightly further afield is the bustling market town of Pickering with its historic castle, Dalby Forest with miles of cycle tracks to enjoy and the beautiful Castle Howard. Other pretty market towns worth a visit include Helmsley and Malton which both have a variety of shops and local produce, Malton is fondly known as Yorkshire’s food capital and has regular food fayres. Not forgetting the nearby beaches for you to enjoy.

Step through the front door and you will find an inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and a dining table in front of the double doors leading onto the patio. Cosy up on the stylish sofa and enjoy the warmth of the wood burner and catch up on your favourite TV show or plan your activities for the following day. Venture up the spiral staircase where you will find the gorgeous bedroom with a king-size bed, Smart TV, wonderful views down the valley and a stylish en-suite shower room with shower and WC.

Heading outside there is a lovely south facing decked area to sit and enjoy the fabulous scenery or why not enjoy al fresco dining with a charcoal BBQ on the enclosed patio area. This a great space to enjoy the dark skies enjoyed in this area or to star gaze. A cosy and very comfortable cottage with amazing views along the valley. It's ideally situated for exploring the local area and there are so many walks and tracks, both over the moorland and along the river - on 3 days we just walked in different directions from the front door!
