It offers guests wonderful opportunities for star gazing as the nights draw in. The secluded location offers guests the chance to truly enjoy the rural location, with miles of fantastic walks available directly from the property’s front door. For those looking for a little more hustle and bustle, the seaside towns of Minehead and Ilfracombe are each around an hour’s drive away, and offer a range of shops, restaurants, and attractions, alongside their beaches. Other places of interest in the area include the pretty village of Porlock, the harbour town of Watchet, some of the UKs best beaches including surfers paradise, Croyde Bay, Woolacombe and Saunton Sands and the medieval village of Dunster with its fascinating castle.
As guests approach this detached barn conversion property, they will immediately get a sense of just how peaceful and private a location it enjoys, set as it is, within its own 60-acre valley. On entering the impressive property, they come first to the welcoming entrance hall which offers plenty of space to leave coats and boots before continuing to the main living accommodation. The spacious lounge is a wonderfully relaxing space with several large sofas, a Smart TV, DVD, and a warming wood burner, for which logs are provided. The kitchen/diner is so much more than a place to eat and prepare meals, it is a fantastic space for socialising, celebrating, and relaxing, and as well as a large dining table, there is also a breakfast bar and an inviting sofa. The huge bi-fold doors here allow guests to open this space out to the garden, making the garden feel like an extension of the house. The kitchen area itself is well-equipped and offers a Range oven, hob, microwave, two fridges, dishwasher, Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine and wine cooler. The washing machine, tumble dryer, and freezer can be found in the separate utility room nearby, which also has the added bonus of an additional sink. One of the property’s bedrooms can be found on the ground floor: a super king-size room which can be made up as a twin room on request. This room benefits from an en-suite bathroom with shower-over-bath and WC, whilst there is also a separate ground-floor cloakroom with WC. Two separate staircases lead to the first floor, where there are four more bedrooms. At one end of the house, guests will find a king-size room which has an en-suite bathroom with shower-over-bath and WC. Nearby there is a twin room, which can be a triple on request and has one additional pull out bed, great for parties of eleven or twelve guests. This room also benefits from an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. The second set of stairs on the ground-floor lead to two more bedrooms, one of which is a king-size room and the other a double, each with their own en-suite shower room and WC.
One of the real draws of this property is the amazing outside space. Guests are free to enjoy the full 60 acres of grounds, which includes gardens with patio area, garden furniture, BBQ and a fire pit, 3-hole pitch and putt golf course (the owners call it field golf so please note it may not be available following very wet weather), as well as woodlands, fields, a stream, and a beautiful lake with a jetty, perfect for wild swimming, or feel free to bring your own paddle boards if you fancy a bit of paddle boarding! Also, the wonderful private hot tub, close to the seating area, enjoys fantastic views thanks to its elevated position.
And don't forget to challenge each other to a game in the private games barn located adjacent to the barn with table football, pool table and table tennis!
